Our Wedding

Adam's Perspective: 	Going into the summer before my Senior year I decided to stop looking for someone and just let it happen. Well it really didn’t take long once I changed that mind set. Here I thought I was walking into the same routine day at my college job. I woke up tired from the shenanigans the night before that college students get into, I gathered myself and headed to work. My position was ground and maintenance so I was never really in the office much. Doing the property routes my day starts to come closer to an end. I head back into our office where once I open the door I see her, beautiful green eyes and blonde hair with a mask on, Leah. A feeling came over me, my palms sweaty and my thoughts racing. I went and clocked out and jumped back in my truck. All these “what ifs” started flooding my head and I haven’t even talked to her yet, I didn’t even know what the bottom half of her face looked like. After some pep talks to the mirror and gaining some confidence, I introduced myself, a lot of my nerves eased when I could tell Leah was nervous to talk to me too. The days went on and I fumbled my words in the first few encounters, planned some quirky dates, and got the girl! It was obvious we had each other's interest, it didn’t take long for both of us to realize that we love each other and we had found our person. Leah's Perspective: It was summer 2021 and I was working at one of MSU’s student apartment complexes as a leasing agent. It was a normal day of people coming in and out of the leasing office until one person walked in. He was wearing black basketball shorts, running shoes, a green DTN t-shirt and a hat that said “hook em”. I remember looking at him and having a gut feeling “I have to get to know him”.&nbsp; Flash forward a couple a days - that person was Adam. Whenever the door would open behind me instead of ignoring whoever walked in, I would turn around so fast to see if it was him. When it wasn’t him, my heart would sink - when it was him I actually thought my heart was going to jump out of my body.&nbsp; We had multiple little 30-second conversations throughout the span of 3-5 weeks, each one flirtatious and significant in my mind but I always managed to say something embarrassing in each one because Adam made me so nervous. One of those conversations Adam told me that he was looking at jobs elsewhere. I was so sad to think I wouldn’t see him at work anymore but knew that I had to get his number before he left because I would never forgive myself if I never saw him again. Instead of just asking him for his number, I took a picture of his timecard to get his first and last name.&nbsp; After that, I went on vacation for about a week and when I got back to East Lansing on a Monday morning I got a notification that Adam DePelsMaeker added me on snapchat. When I saw that I actually thought I was going to go into cardiac arrest. I have never felt joy like that in my entire life. It got me thinking -&nbsp;I never told Adam my last name so I am not sure how he found me on snapchat. Turns out, when I left for vacation he thought I left the company too so he took a picture of my timecard to get my contact info. It was meant to be.&nbsp; I have never been so confident about anything in my life - I always knew I was going to marry Adam. Even before we hung out I knew there was something about him that made me want to spend forever with him. These past few years have been the best years of my life and I am so ready to continue on our journey together!
