It was July 2021, the Capitals were eliminated from the playoffs two months before, and the Philadelphia Phillies were doing…alright. Needless to say there wasn’t much luck going around.

Until fate decided to intervene.

Jacki had just moved to DC for graduate school at George Washington University and for an internship at Senator Chris Coons’s office, while Adam had just started working at Corenic Construction. Both found themselves wanting to get into the dating scene and not long after they came into each other’s lives.

Jacki and Adam met the modern way: by matching on Hinge. From here they started to text and talk on Hinge for a few weeks before Adam asked Jacki out on an official date. But…. life is never easy!. Adam’s phone broke causing him to get a new phone, which didn’t have Jacki’s phone number. Confused and a little nervous as to why he hadn’t texted her, Jacki texted Adam. Adam didn’t recognize the number so didn’t know who she was. To jog his memory, Jacki sent him a picture. That's when the lightbulb went off!

Their first date was at Circa in Foggy Bottom on July 22, 2021. Even after meeting Jacki’s crazy family, Adam stuck around. The two seemed happiest when they were together. In May 2022, they moved in together and have been inseparable ever since. From small trips to Florida and New York, to vacationing in Portugal, family vacations to Italy, France, and Disney, Jacki and Adam were meant to be.

Adam organized a fun-filled birthday weekend for Jacki, culminating in asking her to marry him on October 15, 2023 at a vineyard in Virginia with family and a few friends to celebrate the occasion.

Jacki said Yes!
