There are plenty of incredible views on the trails at Torrey Pines State Reserve to explore. We usually start on the beach about a quarter mile south of where you park on the 101. There's a staircase off the beach, built right into the cliffs to begin your hike up and come back down when you get tired. There's also an alternate walk down the hill on a paved road on the back side of the park that will take you back to your car.
Mount Soledad has arguably the best 360 degree views in San Diego. You can see as far east as El Cajon and as far south as Mexico! Drive straight to the top where there is a small parking lot with additional parking in the circle surrounding the Cross.
