Q + A

What happened to the previous venue?

Unfortunately, we found out in October 2023 from the local hotels that we are unable to book any hotels in approximately a ~20mile radius from the original venue for less than ~$600-1,200 per night due our wedding date being on the same weekend of USCs Parents Weekend and their first game of the season. So we will no longer be using that venue.

Where will the wedding be taking place?

The wedding will be aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas on September 21st, 2024. This will be on board the ship while at the port of the Royal Caribbean’s Island Coco Cay.

Do we have to go on the cruise to attend the wedding?

Yes. The cruise will disembark from the Port of Miami on Friday September 20th and return on Monday September 23rd, 2024. The wedding will be held on Saturday September 21, 2024. Please know that we completely understand if you are unable to come due to scheduling, finances, or general discomfort with being on the open sea.

What is the time and location of the ceremony and reception?

The reception will be onboard Allure of the Seas in Dazzles. This is subject to change closer to our sailing date as the location and time will not be confirmed until 90 days prior to sailing date. Check back for any changes. There will not be a formal reception after the ceremony, but there will be a ‘walking reception’ (similar to a cocktail hour) with finger foods stations, drinks, and dancing. If the timing of the ceremony allows, we are currently planning on meeting up for a seated dinner in the formal dinning room then going to one of the clubs on the ship to continue having fun and dancing for the evening.

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Semi-formal/cocktail attire.

How do we book our cruise?

We have a block of rooms being held at a special group rate for our guests. Please email our family friend/travel agent, Sue Rykus, at Srykus@expediacruises.com with the subject line of ‘KnechtMooreWedding’ and she will help walk you through the booking process.

How much is it to book our cruise?

Prices are always changing! There are many different options for different price points. Sue can help with figuring pricing out for you. Pricing depends on the amount of guests, where you are located on the ship, type of room, and added upgrades.

Do I need a passport?

The cruise line would prefer that passengers have a passport but if you do not have a passport, your birth certificate and a government issued ID such as a drivers license or naturalization ID will suffice.

I am traveling alone and I would like to room with someone so I don’t have to pay for a whole room/2 people alone. What should I do?

Some of our guests are traveling alone and stated that they would like to have another person room with them so that they do not have to pay for a whole room/2 people on their own. If you would like for us to connect you with other guests who are traveling alone and would also like to be paired up as well, please let us know by text messaging Adam at (941) 626-5514

What is the Pre-Wedding Get-Together?

It’s a small get together hosted by Denny and Ronelle (Adam’s Dad and Step-Mother) in Punta Gorda. It’s kind of a cross between an engagement party and a wedding shower. Some wedding games will be held and outdoor games as well. Just as a opportunity to get together and mingle before the cruise.
