Adam and Mal's story began in June 2023 when they were in graduate school at Bethel. They both claim that they noticed each other on the first day of class (and proceeded to do nothing about it), but got to know each other as friends in class and outside when they started playing board games and pickleball together with their classmates.

Over the next few months, their friendship developed over their shared love of music, movies, humor, and games. By the end of the summer, they both had massive crushes, and finally, Adam asked Mal if she'd like to go on a date sometime.

Their first date was a picnic at Boom Island Park, which must have gone pretty well, even though they were both really nervous. They spent that fall getting ice cream, eating sushi, studying together, playing trivia, sharing their favorite things (for Mal: Taylor Swift; for Adam: countless YouTube videos), and playing way too many games of cribbage.

After a few minor hiccups (every cool story has them), Mal and Adam gave their relationship a new title and started dating on February 8, 2024. Since then, they have been the best of friends, classmates-turned-colleagues, pickleball partners, catan enemies, and now fiancés!

They could not be more excited to join their lives together and are endlessly grateful to celebrate with everyone who has supported them and their love story along the way. See you all on May 1st <3
