In April 2019, Addi and Drew attended the annual Annapolis Cup St. John’s College and Naval Academy Croquet match. Drew attended the match with his friends and Addi attended the match with hers. During the match, Addi and Drew were walking around with their friends. While they were walking, one of Drew’s friends stopped a group of girls and asked the girls to take a picture of them. The girl who took the picture was Addi! Following the picture, Drew and Addi strayed away from the group and started talking. Before they knew it, over 30 minutes had passed. Drew asked Addi for her number and they went on their first date at Johnny’s restaurant in Roland Park one week after the croquet match. Drew and Addi could feel a special connection was there. This was the start to what would become a lifelong love and partnership.

In their spare time, Addi and Drew enjoy hiking, spending time with family and friends, visiting Addi’s hometown in Las Cruces, New Mexico, exploring new areas, shopping, finding new restaurants and food trucks, watching movies, taking evening walks, and anything they can do together.

On March 20, 2021, Drew took Addi to Annapolis to walk around Quiet Waters Park to celebrate the first day of spring. They went to their favorite local bakery “Bakers and Co.” to get a coffee and pastry to bring along. Addi and Drew were walking along the boardwalk beside the South River when Drew got down on one knee and asked Addi to be his wife! Drew’s cousin Mary Pizzala was there to capture the special moment. After taking some first peek engagement pictures, Addi and Drew called their families and close friends to share the exciting news.
