Our Story

We Swiped Right!

Hi everyone!

This is written by Addie and I am not sure if Patrick will even read this LOL. But I know some of you may not know Patrick & I's entire story, so enjoy :)

As many couples nowadays, Patrick & I met on the Hinge dating app. We did not talk prior to our set date at Blue Pacific which is a sushi restaurant in Lancaster. If anyone knows Patrick, you know he does not like to talk or text. He said if we were going to talk he rather it be in person and I found it refreshing. Now for the first date, I was actually late. And if anyone knows me I am notoriously early. But I was at work and I had to come in my scrubs because as anyone in healthcare knows, shit always hits the fan at change of shift. :) Luckily Patrick understood and he even accepted me in my scrubs.

For our second date I probably was compensating for being late on our first date because I was over an hour early. I sat in the parking ride that was 2 minutes from his house because I did not want to be THAT early. And then after our 2nd date, COVID hit....

This changed a lot of people and affected all of us. Patrick and I did not know each other that well but the only way to see each other was to take that chance. We had to distance ourselves from everyone and basically put our lives on hold as did the whole world. It definitely put us to the test and thankfully we still like each other. :)

I will always tell everyone this and keep repeating it, Patrick is how I got through COVID. If it was not for him, I don't think my mental health would have been in the same spot. Most people know I am a Respiratory Therapist. I worked in the COVID ICU's and ER through the brunt of it all, along with all my amazing friends and coworkers. But going to Patrick's house 2-3 days per week is what saved my sanity. I got to leave my job behind and focus on something good and happy. Even though he was also dealing with a lot with his roofing company, he was still able to be upbeat and bring a smile to my face.

We have been through a lot in the last 3 years and we wouldn't change any of it. Now we cannot wait to celebrate our wedding day with all our family & friends!
