I had a crush on her for over a year, seeing her at Salt every Tuesday and thinking she was way out of my league. But one day, I asked her friend to see if she was single, and he told me she was and I should text her. So I sent her an Instagram DM asking her to go for coffee, and somehow she said yes! We talked for over 3 hours at the Mill, and at the end of the night, I walked her to her car, got her number, and gave her a side hug. Walking away, I knew she was the one. A day later, I asked her out on a second date, where I picked her up, and we went out for sushi, where she grilled me with questions, but I answered them all correctly...somehow. After meeting all her friends and showing up to Pla Mor for the first time to show I could be a cowboy for her, we went out on our third date to the oven, where I asked her to be my girlfriend after giving her a present and a handwritten letter expressing how much she means to me. Spoiler alert: she said Yes again! And the rest is history!
One day, I got an Instagram DM from a super cute guy (little did I know he would one day be my husband!). He asked me out to coffee, so naturally, I said yes! We talked for hours about random things; I learned he didn't eat vegetables (which is not true), I learned he hates country music (again, not true), and he was so nonchalant I had a feeling he wasn't super stoked to be there. Come to find out he was SO nervous because it was his first ever official date! I tell you this to show how dramatically my feelings for him changed over the next couple of dates. On the second date, I decided to grill him with questions and dress as country as I could (to see if he could handle me). He passed my "test" with flying colors. Flash forward to our third date, he planned the most thoughtful date to ask me to be his girlfriend- he even asked for my dad's permission...I said yes! That is when I knew he was the one! Now, flash forward to February; he planned the most thoughtful proposal and after-party. I said yes, and we jumped with excitement as two best friends who are getting the privilege to spend the rest of our lives together. How sweet :)
