Picture this. It's 2020, peak COVID, and two college senior students decide to dabble in the world of dating apps. Now before you start cringing, just know we totally get it. Typically these types of stories don't end well. However, we were the exception.
Ali: I remember getting ready for our first date. I was FaceTiming my best friend Abbey (a.k.a. my Maid of Honor), pacing in my room debating whether or not I should actually go on this date with a guy I had never met before. Sounds scary, but I had made sure Addison was a real person before agreeing to hang out with him. We knew a lot of the same people, both were students at the U of A, and he worked at the rec center. How scary could he really be? I talked through it with Abbey and she encouraged me to take the chance. So I did. I showed up to Illegal Pete's to drink margaritas with a cute boy on a Wednesday night. At the end of the night when he suggested we go to Taco Bell, I knew he was the one for me.
Addison: It hasn’t always been easy going. After 6 months of dating we had a 2 month break up. During this time we got closer with God and ended up coming back together in a healthier place. Shortly after getting back together I joined the Army and left for training. We went through 3 months of limited contact (one 30 min phone call a week) followed by another 7 months of long distance. One thing about Ali and I is we have been challenged and tested through the years we have dated. Together I know we can take on anything. There is no one else I would rather do life with.
We are excited for this next season of life, and to start it off celebrating with the people we love! Thank you for being part of our journey.
