Addie moved to Vineyard in the spring of 2024 after completing her student teaching in Washington, D.C. The first counselor in her new bishopric wanted to interview her for a calling but forgot to show up to the meeting. However, the second counselor arrived a few minutes later to step in. That counselor just so happened to be Kaden;) He did the interview and thought she was the most gorgeous girl he’d ever seen. He had no idea how he’d make this work being in the bishopric but eagerly wanted to get to know her more.

Addie tried to friend zone Kaden before they went on their first date but Kaden convinced her to give him just one date to change her mind. They went mini golfing and ate crepes in Orem. Kaden immediately got Addie outside of her comfort zone by twirling her in the rain when she begged him not too. They laughed the entire time and quickly realized this was something worth going for.

Kaden took Addie to the top of a parking garage to set off fireworks with friends. This was their second date and Addie did not anticipate Kaden making any moves but should’ve known Kaden would anyways when he kissed her for the first time;)

Kaden drove to the SLC airport at 11pm to pick up Addie from a trip to Connecticut. He showed up with roses in hand and nervously greeted Addie after some time apart. Kaden didn’t spare any time and asked if she would be his girlfriend as soon as they stepped back into the car. Addie said yes!

Kaden had just gotten back from a 10 day trip in Europe and told Addie how he realized how much he loves her while being away. Addie immediately said she loves him in return as she felt exactly the same!

Kaden told Addie from the start that he was gonna marry her and she secretly knew it too but didn’t say it as fast. Everything about their relationship was so seamless and different from any other relationship they’ve had that they knew it was only heading one direction. It wasn’t until October when they officially talked about potential dates and temples.

Kaden and Addie tried on rings shortly after deciding June would be the perfect time to get married.

Kaden joined Addie on their family trip to Hawaii just before Christmas. He persuaded Addie to believe she wasn’t getting proposed to on the trip while plotting with her family members to make it happen there. The backdrop couldn’t have been more beautiful for them as Kaden got down on one knee. Addie was in disbelief that she was getting engaged but couldn’t have been happier with how he planned it. They left the island engaged and on cloud 9!!!
