Our story began in what seemed like a dark time for most during the pandemic, but ultimately brought the two perfect people together bonding over something that they shared a love for and still continue to do so today. During this time many people began to create online dating profiles or profiles just to see who was out there to make a connection with in a time of isolation. Bryant had a few apps casually, and Addy hopped on the train and downloaded one called Hinge to see what it was all about. She discovered many people she knew from Athens as well as Columbia. Before calling it quits, she came across this one profile that had a guy standing on the field of Sanford Stadium with a giant smile that couldn't help but catch her attention. Not to mention his profile also stated "the superior Tex Mex is Moe's", and as many of you know, Addy has an unwavering love for Moe's. Knowing her, she of course had to say something to let him know that she was (in her mind) basically Moe's number one fan. Needless to say Bryant responded to Addy on the app and you could say the rest is history from there, but that almost was not the case.
Both agreed to quit talking on the "dating app" but wanted to continue to keep in touch. Neither wanted to give their phone numbers quite yet, so Bryant asked Addy to give him her Snapchat to continue talking. She did, and then did not hear from him for almost a week. After about a week's time had passed, she decided to unadd him because there was no need to keep his information if they were not going to keep in touch. She suddenly gets a notification that he added her back right as she went to unadd him. Some may think the timing of this could have been a sign. She then of course the proceeds to be snarky in the first few comments giving him a hard time for not adding her back for almost a week, making sure he knew he almost missed his chance.
After a few weeks of snapchatting, texting and FaceTime calls, both had mentioned that they were going to go to Athens to visit each other's friends. So while they were there, they figured they would meet in person to see maybe if there was even a real connection or if they would just stay friends. Once both arrive Friday night, they decide to meet up on Saturday and possibly spend the day together. Not knowing what to expect they chose a small Japanese place downtown to eat at and then planned hang out back where Addy lived. Bryant came to pick Addy up and when he saw her he made sure to let his friends know she was who she said she was and looked even better in person, quoting "she's bad, boys", while she quickly let her friends know as well that he was easy on the eyes. As they head to go eat they discover the restaurant is closed and a plan B was needed. Both knowing they loved Mexican food, why not go to the best and most popular place in Athens, La Parilla.
Once arriving at the restaurant, the two could not have been sat at a bigger table for two people. As they both sat down, both sat almost at opposite ends of the table. Which seemed a bit awkward to both since they had just had a great car ride over chatting it up the whole way. Needless to say it turned out to be a great first lunch date and both quickly realized they very much enjoyed each other's company. After lunch, both headed back to The Standard to spend some more time together. The next day, Addy was invited to meet all of his roommates and spend the day with everyone. This is when you can say the rest is history from there. That evening after a long day at the pool, drinking, and cornhole, Bryant asks Addy if she wants to make it official. Her response was nothing short of "I guess so. We can see where this goes, but no promises." Both then returned home to relay the news of now being in a relationship. At first, Addy's parents, especially her dad was not at all fully believing what he was hearing that his daughter connected with someone online, met in Athens, and then came back home in a relationship. Many questions were to follow, but luckily two weeks later, they got to meet Bryant at everyone's favorite place... the beach. After spending a few days together everyone seemed to be excited about the new relationship.
About two months into the relationship, the big L word was dropped. Both were so shocked to being saying it so fast, many knowing Addy did not take this word very lightly. But, neither of them could deny the feelings they felt for each other. Both were ready to begin the school year to be in the same town with each other and make Moe's Monday a weekly tradition that they could share. Once the time finally came to move back for the year, both Addy and Bryant were moving into new houses. Addy then got the pleasure of meeting Bryant's parents and everyone immediately loved each other and knew that Bryant and Addy shared something special.
Throughout the next two years, Bryant and Addy got to enjoy what was left of college life with football games, late nights downtown, endless study hours, support at equestrian meets, and even parenting a dog that has become the center of their lives. Once graduation came around, the two knew that they would be back in separate towns until they could figure out what the future held. Luckily, they were only a little over an hour apart and got to see each other almost every weekend. Both were fully committed to each other and knew they wanted to spend forever together.
Flash forward to April 2023, the two bought a house together in Greenville, SC and planned to make the new city their home. Two months later while celebrating their three year anniversary at the Hartness Hotel, Bryant popped the question and asked Addy to marry him. It was a weekend filled with exploring Greenville, staying at a luxury hotel, bike rides, drinks by the pool, and most importantly enjoying a sunset making the promise to be together forever.
So far, fiancé life has consisted of figuring out what's for dinner, finances, living together, and even owning another dog. Each other's love continues to grow each day while becoming more excited to become husband and wife.
As they like to say, their story is only beginning and are so excited to keep making memories together! Thank you for and supporting them over the last four years, being apart of their special day, and continuing to be in their lives as the years go on.
