Once upon a time in a hometown not so far away, a boy named Brandon Prince and a girl named Adriana DuCharme lived parallel lives. Same town. Different high schools. Same Friday night lights. Zero actual conversations. They “knew of” each other in the way small-town legends do — like distant folklore, but make it sporty. Life happened. They dated other people. They went off to college. They both played sports. They grew up. And then one random night, in the bold year of 2022 (when most romances begin with a casual “hey” slide into the DMs), Brandon did something unheard of. He called her. On the phone. Without ever meeting her. Adri immediately thought: What kind of guy is this… and why is he so nice? Not only did he ask her to his baseball game, but he also invited her to her favorite dinner — sushi. (How he knew? We’ll say divine intervention.) He was kind. He was intentional. He was persistent. And Adri? Well. She tried. For three whole months she tried to friend-zone this man into another dimension. “We’d be great best friends… nothing more,” she said. Repeatedly. But Brandon was consistent if nothing else. He showed up. And apparently, he believed that when you know, you know. Somewhere between the baseball games, the sushi dates, and Adri realizing no one had ever pursued her with that much intention (and patience), she began to see it. He wasn’t too good to be true. He was just the one God had been writing into her story all along — exactly what she said she wanted: “The bestest of friends for life.” Someone to cheer her on through her wildest endeavors, like running marathons and moving to another state. She did the same as Brandon decided to take on the path of becoming a pilot. Their adventures continue… And that’s how a hometown almost-love story turned into forever.
