Life isn't always easy, but then you meet the one

Picture of Life isn't always easy, but then you meet the one

We have grown up together so we've known each other from the start. We were both born and raised in Ladysmith and that's where the love began. In middle school is where it all started, a girl that went to public school and a boy that went to the catholic school walked with friends to the public library after school and you guessed it wouldn't talk in person. We would all walk together and meet at the computers and talk through the computers, let's say .. it was love (not) our love sadly dwindled in high school but we still remained acquaintances. We graduated and went our own ways. It wasn't until 2012 when Adrielle was in a friends wedding and Ben was attending as a guest that we found each other again. It must have been the tie that he was wearing on the top of his head by the end of the night that stole her heart. It wasn't soon after the wedding we realized we had been living just blocks from each other in Eau Claire as we were in school.

As we graduated college we both found ourselves traveling home more to spend time with family and friends, so there wasn't a doubt the decision to move closer to home was a must. Ben made a really selfless decision to go back to school to become a law enforcement officer. The Rusk County Sheriff's office accepted Ben as a full time Sheriff's deputy just months after graduating. We found our perfect home and started our lives in Weyerhaeuser where we now reside.

As many of you know we have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 8 goats, chickens, and ducks. We enjoy the outdoors and sharing it with our animals. This brings me back to when Ben proposed. It was a cold December day and we had my work Christmas party to attend that evening. We had traps set around Rusk County that needed to be checked prior to the party. I met him at his parents house where he greeted me telling me because it's so cold out I should open my Christmas gift early.. I was taken back and confused it was only December 12th I don't need to get my gifts yet. He insisted and I didn't argue, it was the carhartt jacket I had needed. I thought that was it but then Kim Ben's mother came up holding a box and insisted I open the gift she and Steve got me... ok?? this is strange so I opened them because you just don't argue with Kim and it was a nice pair of warm boots. Soon we got dressed and we set off to check the traps. As many of you may know I am a practical person.. we had traps 20 minutes away so I told him we should go the furthest away and work our way back to town and check those traps last as it only makes sense then we can get ready for the party! As most men do.. he did the opposite of what I said.. "no I know we have something in these traps we need to check these first." Irritated I just let him do his thing. We got to the spot, Ben was leading and I wasn't far behind. I was looking down as I was walking and all I heard Ben say was "honey! look!" I looked up expecting to have a coyote in the trap I couldn't tell what we were looking at so I walked up to the trap squinting and realized it was a bear with a sign around the neck that said "Marry Me?" I turned around shocked and Ben was on one knee with the ring box open. The most special part about it in my eyes was Ben took the time weeks before to ask my dad for my hand in marriage. He knew that my dad was my person he was the one person that just understood everything and he was special.

Our relationship has been tested as time has gone on. God has given us both good and bad situations, but we have always found the strength to push us through. We have the most amazing family and friends and cannot wait to share or commitment to one another with everyone!
