Dustin & I first met on a dating app, later to find out we both worked for the same airline. We agreed to meet up for drinks at a local brewery nearby.

From that day on Dustin made sure my schedule was busy, only allowing time for him. He wowed me with roses, chocolate and my favorite wine on date #3, when he decided to lock me down. I found out very early on he can be an amazing listener 😜

I really knew I had a keeper the summer of when we first started dating. I was living in Edina, working 2 jobs. I was busy working in the memory care unit working a double that day before I was finally able to come home to soak my tired, achey feet. It was the end of June. Dustin was leaving for spray season soon and I was sad to know I wouldn’t see him much for the next coming weeks. Coming into my apartment I had noticed a card on the counter and my favorite flowers ( sunflowers) In a vase. The card was so heartfelt. I’ve never had a love letter written to me before. At the end of the letter it read “ my love for you will last as long as these flowers, that’s one promise I have to you” I thought to myself oh, that’s so sweet, but sunflowers won’t last more than a few weeks) when I had called Dustin to ask him about the flowers he asked me if I looked at the flowers really close. I said no I guess not, he told me to look at them again,When I looked closer at the flowers, I realized one of them was fake..

From day one he has made me feel like the most special, luckiest girl in the world. I do recall him saying within 2 weeks of us meeting that he was going to marry me one day 🤍

Our passion for the aviation industry was what our relationship was founded on. The ups and downs and the crazy life style we live, makes for a very understanding other half when our schedules don’t pan out as they should. Our love for flying makes us the most cliche, pilot, flight attendant couple hehe.

Fast forward to our first year we brought home the biggest pain in our butt & newest addition to the family-Oliver Sylvester (aka Mr. kitty) Even though he can be an absolute turd he is the other biggest love of our lives.

A little over 1 year after that was the day that Dustin proposed. We got engaged on 6/27/23. We have been dating just over two years. Dustin is from southern Minnesota. I am from farther north of the cities, Wyoming, Minnesota.. he has been trying to get me to permanently, moved down here and away from the city since we started talking. I was not too keen on moving down here permanently because of the distinct smell of hogs in farm country in southern Minnesota., hehe 😜

The property we have wanted to buy together is in southern Minnesota on for 16 acres of open Green grass.

He had told me we were going to go shooting at his uncles land the afternoon we got engaged. I questioned why we turned down the driveway of the property we have looked at countless times, instead of going to his uncles. He had parked halfway up the long driveway, and asked us to walk to the end. When we reached the end of the driveway he had asked my thoughts on the property, he wanted me to look at the whole picture, and envision our lives together. He had said this is where he wanted to raise his future children, and grow old together, which is why he wanted to do “this” here.

Thats when he got down on one knee. He never fails to surprise me. His friend was hiding in the brush to capture the moment.

After trying to call all of my family and my maid of honor, nobody would answer me. (Not even mom or gram who I call countless times a day ) I was disappointed at first with all of the excuses as it seemed. My maid of honor is a flight attendant as well. We work together every month. She had told me she couldn’t answer the phone because she had picked up a trip that day and still had passengers onboard. When I kept calling her, she kept saying they were waiting on wheelchairs. For those of you that don’t get the joke, we often wait a longgggg time on wheelchairs at times, on Any airline so it was believable lol. When we went to the restaurant, they are all waiting for us with champagne to celebrate and eat together.
