Foods to try:
Shawarma, Koshary (Egyptian national dish), Home cooked meals such as Macarona Bashamel + and Molokhia and Makshy (stuffed grape leaves, squash, cabbage). Stuffed Pigeon is popular in egypt. You will be in Egypt in the beginning of mango season and in the midst of watermelon season. Travel outside Cairo:
Luxor + Aswan : stunning ancient egyptian city. 1 hour plane ride (you need 1-3 days to get the most out of it)
North coast beach/Alexandria : Lit beach moves 4 hour drive/train. Alexandria is more for historical stuff and food, north beach more for beach vibes and parties. Lots of people will be traveling to north coast beaches or dahab after eid
