We met at a mutual friend's house party in October 2013. I remember looking across the room, seeing Evan and being immediately attracted to him. We talked the majority of that night but I thought perhaps I will never see him again. That autumn, we fortuitously saw each other often at North Seattle community college, where we were both taking classes.

Eventually we began dating. Evan went on to finish his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Washington. Meanwhile, I finished my post baccalaureate Nursing degree at Seattle University. We (officially) moved in together in 2016. In 2017 we added our adorable, bundle-of-joy golden retriever Ozzy to our happy home.

In October 2018 Evan took me to Maui for my 30th birthday. While watching the sunset and drinking wine on our hotel room balcony Evan proposed. Now we're getting married on May 4th!

I'm one very lucky girl to have found Evan. He is my best friend, confidant and soul mate. I can rely on him for anything. He's been there in the good times and the bad. He continues to support and take care of me, especially when I lost my Mom in August. I count my blessings often and try not to take the good things in my life for granted. Evan is my biggest blessing and I am so grateful to have him in my life.

I am also happy that on our wedding day I get to say "May the 4th be with you". A true Star Wars fan wouldn't have it any other day.
