In early 2020, I gave Eli a follow on Instagram after seeing we had a few mutual friends- not thinking anything of it besides thinking he looked cool. We connected on social media and quickly found out we had so much in common, growing up 15 minutes away from each other most of our lives. Long story short 17-year-old crazy me may or may not have friend-zoned him after he asked me on a date one too many times! Fast forward to April 24th, 2020, I had that same boy take my order at Chick-Fil-A, still just as persistent! He immediately caught my attention for how sweet he was to me after being friend-zoned so hard, lol. He had a certain joy about him that was contagious & I drove off that day knowing he had something so special and unique about him. I thought to myself that if I left a drive-thru feeling that way, after talking to him for maybe a couple minutes, I can only imagine how blessed I’d be if I got to do life with him. If you have the privilege of knowing Eli, you know exactly what I mean. He truly is everything God knew I needed and he is genuinely my best friend. He embraces his life in a way that is so inspiring to me and I know so many others as well. If you know him you love him, and I have no clue how I got so lucky with such a good one.
It’s safe to say that we have been inseparable since that week in April. From both of us graduating high school, to moving to college together, to now graduating college together, and all the mountains and valleys in between… there’s truly no one else I’d want on my team. Eli and I got engaged on December 10th, 2023 and we have a life long of memories to make after December 14th, 2024. I am so honored God entrusted me to serve and love this man for the rest of my life. He is everything to me and we are so excited for the rest of our lives together. Being his bride has been my favorite thing but I already know it will not hold a candle to the joy of being his wife! ❤️
Just right before the start of the pandemic in 2020, I saw Aidan request to follow me on Instagram. Being the young cat I was, I tried and tried and took my shots, but evidently it wasn’t enough, as I soon became friend-zoned. During that time in the zone I quickly became humbled and refined lol. While on the downturn of the zone, I met her at Chick-Fil-a and spoke to her like I’d known her all my life. I was really just trying to not be weird.. but from then on forward we started talking and there was no doubt we’d be together for the rest of our lives.
All jokes aside, I am honored to have been given the opportunity by God to love and cherish this woman. She has been a constant in my life showing me wisdom, self-control, kindness, mercy, and love, throughout all aspects of our relationship. In all of the ups and downs we have experienced, whether from the past or to come, I can be at peace and filled with gratitude that God truly has blessed me with the woman of my dreams. God has worked in our lives, and I’m excited to see him continually work and make us more like Him. I’m so excited to be her groom, but as she said as well, I couldn’t be any more excited to be her husband. I cherish our time together and can only imagine what great things are to come in our lives!
