Are Kids allowed?
While we adore your families, we kindly ask that children stay home for the evening so everyone can fully enjoy the celebration. Exceptions will be made for immediate family members with little ones. There will be a two-hour break between the ceremony and reception for anyone who needs to check in at home. Thank you so much for your understanding!
What should I wear?
We kindly ask that guests dress in formal attire to match the elegance of the day. For men, a suit or dress pants with a sports coat is perfect. For women, a formal gown, dressy pantsuit, or cocktail dress is encouraged.
Will food and drinks be provided?
Absolutely! We'll be serving a full meal and hosting an open bar for our guests to enjoy. If you plan on drinking, please make arrangements for safe transportation to and from the celebration — your safety means the world to us! 🥂
N/A drinks will also be available as well as coffee
Is smoking allowed at the venue?
Yes — The Uptown Theater has a designated smoking area available for guests who wish to step outside.
What should I know about parking and arrival?
Parking is complimentary, and attendants will be on-site to guide you to the designated lot. When you arrive, please note that the main doors will be locked for security. A member of the staff or security team will be at the entrance to welcome you and let you in.
Can I bring a plus one?
We’ve thoughtfully curated our guest list to keep things intimate and meaningful. If you’ve been granted a plus one, you’ll see the option to add your guest when you RSVP by clicking the “+” button. We hope you understand that due to space and logistics, not everyone will receive a plus one. Please know this decision comes from a place of care and consideration, and absolutely no offense is intended.
Where should I stay?
We’ve reserved room blocks for your convenience — you’ll find all the details under the Travel Information section of our website. If you'd prefer something different, there are also plenty of great Airbnbs and boutique stays in the Kansas City area.
If you're looking to stay near the Uptown Theater, here are a few nearby hotel options to consider:
The Fontaine
Elegant hotel on the Country Club Plaza with rooftop views.
Hampton Inn & Suites Kansas City-Country Club Plaza
Comfortable and convenient with free breakfast and parking.
Feel free to choose what fits you best — just be sure to book early, as October is a popular wedding season!
What time should I arrive?
Please plan to arrive no later than 1:45 PM, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 PM. To ensure everything runs smoothly, the doors will close at the start of the ceremony — so be sure to allow extra time for parking and getting settled!
Will there be transportation between the ceremony and reception?
There will be a two-hour break between the ceremony and the reception to give guests time to relax, freshen up, or check in with family.
We will not be providing general transportation between St. Peter’s and the Uptown Theater, so please plan to arrange your own. If you’re staying at our room block at the AC Hotel Westport, a shuttle will be available from the hotel to the reception venue.
We recommend using Uber, Lyft, or carpooling with friends if possible. Parking is available at both locations.
What is the weather like in Kansas City in October?
October in Kansas City is usually cool and crisp, with average highs in the upper 60s and lows in the 40s. It’s the perfect cozy fall weather! If you’re coming from out of town, we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for the evening, especially if you plan to step outside during the reception. Layers are always a good idea — and you’ll be just right for dancing the night away!
