Q + A

What is the Traditional Latin Mass?

The Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) is the liturgy of the Roman Rite which existed from around the fourth century until 1962. The most noticeable differences between the new mass and the TLM are that the TLM is primarily in latin, the priest faces towards the altar, and holy communion is received exclusively while kneeling and on the tongue. The TLM is a beautiful expression of the holy sacrifice of the mass that spiritually nourished many great saints throughout history.

How should I dress?

Since this wedding is a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by holy mass, appropriate and modest dress shall be worn. When sitting, a woman’s dress should reach below her knees, cover the shoulders, and rest near the pit of the throat; a man ought to wear a suit & tie, or, at least, a collared shirt & clean slacks; shorts, short skirts, shirts with slogans, baggy or tight-fitting clothes are all inappropriate.

Can I receive holy communion?

Only those who are baptized and practicing Catholics may receive holy communion.

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict guest list due to space constraints and to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
