Red Rocks Amphitheatre is truly a one of a kind destination. Its creation in 1941 was thanks to a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) project during the Great Depression intended to put young men to work. As a result, Colorado gained one of the most unique live music venues in the world and has hosted artists such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Stevie Wonder, and Diana Ross. Red Rocks is great for amazing views of the city, some light hikes, and has some great museums documenting the venue's history. Or, if you want to experience Red Rocks the way God intended, check out a show! You can find a schedule of upcoming shows and book tickets here: https://www.redrocksonline.com/events/?view=grid
A bit of a drive from Denver, but totally worth it, is Garden of the Gods. The Garden of the Gods Park is a designated National Natural Landmark in Colorado Springs. The red rock formations jutting straight out of the ground are nothing but magnificent. Similar to Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods is a beautiful place to take in some breathtaking scenery and partake in some light hikes in the shadow of Pike's Peak, one of Colorado's "14ers."
Colorado's most popular National Park is a must visit for anyone who loves the natural beauty that Colorado has to offer. Rocky Mountain has a little bit of everything, from meadows in the montane life zone to glistening alpine lakes and up to the towering mountain peaks. Keep your eyes peeled for some wildlife viewing, including elk and maybe even a bear! Timed Entry Permits are required for entrance to the Park, so if this is something you would like to do while in Colorado, we recommend planning your trip early.
