Our story begins roughly 14 years ago. For those unaware Jonathan loves cruising. Not sure if it’s the salty ocean air or the magic of 70s night that he just can’t get enough of, but he truly just can’t get enough. It was on a cruise while he was in college that he met a crew member named Aubrey (at risk of foreshadowing, that’s Aimee’s sister). You see, Jonathan was trying to figure out what to do in the next chapter of his life. Be a commercial airline pilot as he had been training for or graduate and go rogue. Work for Royal Caribbean or start the Disney College Program. As luck would have it Aubrey had done both. They discussed Disney and cruise crew life and exchanged contacts.

Fast forward 14 years to 2022 and Aimee is looking to get away. The strong ties to her hometown in Pensacola are dwindling (sister in Dallas, parents about to RV the country) and she’s constantly wondering if she should take a leap of faith. She starts applying for jobs in Orlando, her ‘happy place’ since childhood. She recruits her parents, sister Aubrey, and her brother in law to go on a week long Disney trip to see if it’s the change she truly needs (their Halloween party costumes killed it).

Okay, now to the good part. It was on this trip that Aubrey reached out to her pal Jonathan. He had decided to take a leap of faith as well all those years ago, forgoing his airline pilot career and took a chance on the Disney College Program (spoiler, worked out pretty well for him). Aubrey and Jonathan briefly caught up via text and decided they’d meet up in person at the park. Aubrey introduced Jonathan to her sister Aimee and they quickly hit it off. They discussed her potential move if a job offer came up and Jonathan agreed to be of any help should a move happen. The following day Jonathan ‘friended’ Aimee and they continued talking online. One week later Aimee was given a job offer she couldn’t refuse and would be moving to Orlando within the month. One week after the move, Jonathan and Aimee would go on their first date to a Mexican restaurant in the big city of Apopka. To say it was a whirlwind is an understatement.

Today we’re both so grateful that we had the strength to take that leap of faith and so excited for what tomorrow brings.
