Our Story

Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Aimee and John first crossed paths when they met while taking drivers ed. Little did they know this small interaction would lead into an ever lasting love.

Not much time later did the pair meet again, this time at Chuck e Cheese when John joined the team where Aimee was already working. Aimee recognized John immediately, but this time in a different light.

This is where their love story took off.

As shifts and conversations continued, mini laughters were shared, and a connection and bond began to grow between the two their love bloomed among the pizza slices, arcade games, and a mouse within the kid crazy chaos of Chuck E. Cheese.

Over the next few months, Aimee found herself intrigued by John. Enjoying every moment they got to work together where ultimately it developed into a crush. Amongst the conversations best friends have…Aimee shared how she truly felt with her soon to be bridesmaid Rebecca, who then took it upon herself to text John, setting things into motion.

It turned out that John held feeling for her as well!

Now knowing his feelings were reciprocated, John planned on asking Aimee to be his girlfriend on January 22nd, he wanted to ask the big question on Aimee’s birthday. It turned out John couldn’t wait that long. During a closing shift on January 7th 2020, John asked Aimee to be his girlfriend while the pair were cleaning the women’s restroom at work. Although it wasn’t the most romantic place to ask, Aimee said yes.

Their first date was a double date to the movies where the pair watched Frozen 2.

From there, the pair’s love for one another grew the more time they spent together both at work and outside of it.

Not even the pandemic could keep them apart!

As the world shut down in March 2020 and continued later into the year, Aimee and John were separated. The pair did everything they could do maintain their relationship mostly including texting, phone calls, and FaceTime. Aimee even changed her work schedule so she would be able to stay home for two weeks at a time and quarantine just so she would be able to see John for the weekend. That is love and dedication!

As the pandemic started to clear up and people were going back to work, the pair were able to see each other more often, but not to the extent as they used to yet. Aimee often spent time at her aunts house with her family during “camping trips in the backyard”, which was located right down the road from John’s house so they would often walk and meet up with one another and take a stroll down the street.

By Spring, John asked Aimee to be his date to prom, and since Aimee had missed out on her prom because of covid, she eagerly said yes! John’s mom took the both of them to go pick out Aimee’s dress, and when he saw her in the dress she picked out on their prom night, he started to cry. Seeing his reaction to her in a prom dress, Aimee couldn’t help but wonder what his reaction would be to her in a wedding dress.

Later in life, John and Aimee reached the step in their relationship that they were ready to move in together. As the pair scoured for apartments in the local area, John’s parents offered for them to renovate the basement into a makeshift home. Realizing this would be a good way to live together but still save on money, the pair agreed and got to work.

Not long after the construction in the basement had started, John confided in his family that he was ready to ask Aimee to marry him. He and his mom went to a jewelry store not too far away and purchased a ring he was sure Aimee was going to love. Unfortunately for him, Aimee was quickly onto him when she saw his location was at a jewelry store. John played it off as best he could, telling her he was in a nearby store, which Aimee reluctantly accepted but remained suspicious.

Over the next two months, the news spread through the family of John’s upcoming proposal that he planned to execute at the 4th of July party. Aimee remained suspicious the entire time, believing she knew it was happening soon but wasn’t exactly sure when. Thankfully everyone was able to throw her off enough to not ruin the surprise.

John proposed to Aimee at the 4th of July party as planned. With fireworks exploding above, Aimee’s favorite song from Twilight played as John emerged from the smoke and dropped down on one knee, asking her to marry him. Aimee stood in shock, but said yes!

Almost immediately after that night, wedding planning began, each day leading closer and closer to their happily ever after.
