Some of our favorite pizza in New York! The square slices are
fantastic. We love coming here and then eating a slice on the sidewalk, wherever you can find space, and then going for a walk and shopping at all the cute boutiques in the area. We also love all the pictures on the walls of all the famous people who have come by—especially the one of James Gandolfini AKA Tony Soprano!
While we can begrudgingly admit that California does have New York beat when it comes to street tacos, we still say that Los Tacos makes our favorite steak tacos on the planet. We love them on flour tortillas with all the toppings and with a Mexican Coke on the side. The tacos are prepared in front of you and come out fast, so these are great to pick up for a quick lunch! They have multiple locations across the city, but we usually visit the one in Tribeca.
You can’t come to New York and not get a bagel! While we did
spend a lot of time in Montreal while at university, and Montreal does have its own take on bagels, we can safely say that New York makes the best bagels—they’re chewy and soft on the inside and nice and crisp on the outside. We love breakfast sandwiches from Tompkins Square, but there
are many other bagel places in the city we love as well, including Liberty Bagels and Jumbo Bagels. Make sure to try a bunch!
Great, quick smash burger! Sort of like NYC’s take on an In-N-Out burger (Aisha thinks those are better, Stephen doesn’t like In-N-Out, but he’s wrong)! The original location is on 2nd Avenue and 7th Street, hence the name, but you can find them all over the city now. The 7th Street location also has a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream shop across the street, so it’s
a great spot to get a delicious and quick dinner and dessert.
We have loved coming here since before it became a bit difficult to get a reservation! And it is still so good. They have amazing pastas (like the agnolotti stuffed with lamb neck) and incredible other bites (the oysters roasted in crab fat butter are an absolute must). Great to come here after
getting a drink and walking around in the West Village!

Really fun and authentic Thai restaurant in the East Village! This place has a great atmosphere and is a very quintessential, bustling New York restaurant, given that it almost feels like you’re dining with the people sitting next to you. The food is fantastic—must try’s are the panang duck
lychee curry and the green curry nuer toon!
We absolutely love this place on the LES. It’s a take on a classic NYC diner with a Korean influence! They have the best pancakes, soaked in honey maple butter. Their other dishes range from NYC diner classics like matzoh ball soup and tuna melts to more Korean-influenced dishes like Korean fried chicken wings and a chicken katsu club.

There are many amazing burgers in NYC, and we probably haven’t even tried all of them, but we can safely say that our favorite, at least so far, is the Black Label Burger at Minetta Tavern! Make sure to ask for the fries on the side to be crispy and well-done. We don’t think a trip to NYC is complete without a great burger, so we highly recommend this place. It’s also right around the corner from the Comedy Cellar if you want to catch a comedy show!
How to make a reservation: You can make a reservation on Resy at https://resy.com/cities/new-york-ny/venues/minetta-tavern. Reservations drop a month out, but you can usually snag a lunch reservation closer to the date you want to go!
One of the top cocktail bars in the world—and also in our hearts! They have delicious cocktails that are also very quirky and unique, like the Cold Pizza (with tomato, basil, and burnt toast notes) and the Japanese Cold Noodle (with pineapple, cucumber, and sesame oil)! They are also known for their fried chicken sandwiches, which are insanely good.
How to make a reservation: You can make a reservation on Resy at https://resy.com/cities/new-york-ny/venues/double-chicken-please. They drop a week out at midnight! But they also save a majority of their tables for walk-ins, so this is definitely a place you can
try that!
One of our favorite wine bars in the city! They have lots of amazing wines from France and other countries. We usually google their wines before going so we know what to choose—because we don’t know enough about wine to order on the spot! They also have an amazing basque cheese cake, which goes perfectly with any glass you get.
This is truly our favorite restaurant in NYC—we have been lucky enough to try it a few times! We haven’t seen Taylor Swift here yet, but it’s apparently her favorite as well! Their dishes are more on the simple side but perfectly executed, like their charred leeks in vinaigrette, their tonnarelli cacio pepe, and their grilled artichokes. If you manage to get a
reservation, please add another two people because we will be showing up as well!
How to make a reservation: You can make a reservation on Resy at https://resy.com/cities/new-york-ny/venues/via-carota. They drop a month in advance at 10:00 AM ET on the dot, but they book up almost immediately. Usually, lunch reservations pop up a day or two in advance, though, and you can also try walking in and giving them your name!
