Our Wedding

Ramsey & Aja met in what seemed like a series of crazy coincidences. It could've happened on any number of occasions over the past ten years, but they both like to say that timing is everything and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Even though they grew up on polar opposite sides of the state, both of their roots are in Indiana. At Indiana University, Ramsey became a member of Kappa Sigma and Aja joined Chi Omega the following year. The houses are directly across the street from one another. Despite a lot of mutual friends and a handful of paired parties between the two houses, Aja and Ramsey never crossed paths! 

It took four years and two independent decisions to move to Denver, CO so fate could place them at the same bar on the same night. If that isn't enough, the only reason the happy couple started talking at the bar was because of Aja's good friend, Allison! After several missed phone calls and a Facebook message reading, "Hey, remember me?", Aja & Ramsey went on a hike with some friends and the rest is history. 

They both found love in the most unexpected way and couldn't be happier. Their families and friends have shown such amazing support of their relationship. The Sharp's & Davis' couldn't be more thrilled to be combining their wonderful families!

How We Met...

The morning of the proposal, Ramsey woke up around 7am (which never happens on the weekend) and immediately started making coffee for the two of us. He told me our plan was to go to the Botanical Gardens and then go paddle-boating, but was very specific about the time that we needed to leave the house and was very concerned that I did not feel like showering before we went out for the day. On the drive to the Botanical Gardens, Eamon called Ramsey. Rams always has his phone connected to his truck, so it rang on speaker. When he immediately ignored the call, I was so surprised because he is always so excited to talk to his family - but still had no idea what he was really planning...When we finally got to the Gardens, we wondered directly to the back of the park because we both wanted to see my favorite - the Bonsai trees. After browsing through the tree exhibit, we were walking on a path and there was an obvious, giant puddle in the path. Ramsey was too busy texting and stepped directly in the puddle! The majority of his leg was soaked. Soon enough, I found out that he was texting Eamon, "90 seconds..." As our walk continued I managed to get a rock in my shoe and was searching for a spot to sit. It turned out that I happened to choose the exact bench that Rams had picked out for the proposal. After getting my shoe figured out, I stood up and was ready to keep walking. Ramsey started to get a little emotional and the next thing I knew, he was on a knee, asking me to marry him. I was stunned - so surprised I even blacked out for a few moments and missed some of his speech! Luckily, Rams anticipated that happening and wrote down the speech for me to read later. I was shaking in excitement and disbelief when Rams told me that my sister, Jade, was also there hiding in the bushes and taking pictures. I started bawling. And who could forget the a male voice yell, "GET A ROOM!" which was Eamon, of course.Ramsey tried so hard to make sure this was a surprise for me, and he definitely succeeded. The rest of the day consisted of loving phone calls, texts, wine, dancing and amazing times with family and friends. I have never felt such an overwhelming amount of happiness and I am so excited for all that our future holds together!

The Proposal - Aja's Version

It's funny how the ones you love have a knack for testing your patience the most. In the two months preceding my asking Aja to be my life-long partner, she tested my patience with eagerness and excitement. Her ring burned a hole in my pocket for months! I found myself often having to remember my mother's common saying, "good things come to those who wait." 

Aja and I regularly spoke of marriage and our future together long before the day we got engaged, and it was no easy task to act hesitantly interested for the sake of surprise. I would always tell her, "one day." Well, with a lot of help from my parents and her sister, Jade, I was able to pick out the perfect ring for Aja and August 27, 2016 finally came around...

With some emails to her boss, I had made sure she didn't have any events scheduled to work. With some prior trips to the Botanic Gardens, I had picked out our spot. And ironically enough, I was able to become a little event planner myself for the longest, heart-throbbing minute of my life with some help from my brother, Eamon. There were certainly some stumbles (literally... into a puddle) along the way, but here I am getting married to the love of my life. I'm officially taking over my father's spot as the luckiest man in the world... and I can't wait to see what our future holds.

The Proposal - Ramsey's Version

Details

Ramsey &amp; Eamon. Batman &amp; Robin. These two have been partners in crime (or fighting it) since the beginning. As a toddler, Eamon always insisted on sleeping in Ramsey's room-- a trend that continued even through their time together at Indiana University. They played on the same sports teams, went to the same schools, included one another whenever hanging out with friends and helped their parents with the younger siblings whenever needed. Today, they both live in the Denver area, enjoy lots of outdoor activity in the Rocky Mountain playground, have a mutual desire for travel and adventure, and love spending time with their family. Eamon is a true inspiration and the eldest of three amazing younger brothers to Ramsey. Back when Ramsey was planning his proposal to Aja, Eamon was a close second to Ramsey's enthusiasm and excitement for the ordeal. His support for their engagement and future marriage is unmatched and genuinely appreciated. Nobody could ask for a better Best Man.  

Eamon Davis

Jade is Aja's younger sister and only sibling. Naturally, when they were little, they fought all the time. In full disclosure, Aja was a bit of a bully to Jade. Tami, their mother, hated that they were constantly arguing and she always wished that they would grow up to be best friends. Every year, their school made them make a goal and it was always the same: "try to get along with my sister." Times truly have changed and Tami finally got her wish. Aja and Jade are extremely close sisters and best friends. Though they live in different states, they still keep in touch regularly and call each other for anything and everything. Ramsey surprised Aja by flying Jade out for the proposal and Jade was the one who captured it all on camera. Aja was already crying when Ramsey asked her to marry him, but once he told her that Jade was there, hiding in the bushes, she started bawling. These two  have always dreamt of their wedding day and used to spend hours pinning wedding dresses, decor, and engagement rings. Everything is now coming to fruition and Jade is going to be the best Maid of Honor that Aja and Ramsey could ask for!

Jade Sharp

Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky himself! As the middle child of the Davis clan, Ryan learned from a very young age how to get along with the young and the old. The result is something very special. Ever the social butterfly, Ryan extrudes happiness with a playful personality, an infectious laugh and a gentleman's demeanor. He made Aja feel welcome to the family right off the bat. Ramsey and Ryan bonded together over sports and all sorts of backyard games. One of the infamous stories of the Davis household is how Ramsey &amp; Eamon "trained" Ryan to be the fantastic lacrosse goalie he is at the eager age of six by literally strapping couch cushions to his chest, shin guards to his legs, a hockey helmet to his head and just whipping the ball at him as hard as they could. He accepted the challenge without hesitation. Not much has changed since then except his nickname. Ryborg still loves to hang out with his brothers. He is finishing his degree at Indiana University and plans to join his older brothers in Colorado after he graduates.  

Ryan Davis

In Kindergarten, Courtney and Aja were introduced to each other on the school bus by a mutual friend and ever since, they have been inseparable. Their moms, Tami and Connie, used to be driven crazy by the two whenever they would try to pick their child up from the other's house. Courtney and Aja would make a hide-and-go-seek game out of it for hours sometimes until it was very clear that the moms were angry.  It was also at Aja's house where Courtney sprained her ankle while sledding backwards (Aja's fault). The two always talked about their future weddings and Courtney loved the fact that she would not have to be the Maid of Honor and make a speech at Aja's wedding since Jade obviously claimed that title. Courtney is the only friend that knows everything about Aja, as she has been a witness to almost everything. Courtney will be the first to pop some champagne and get the party started at the wedding. This year marks 20 years of friendship together, which is crazy to think about. Cheers to that!

Courtney Suverkrup

"The Lad" - as the youngest of the Davis boys, Case immediately found himself entrenched in a world of Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, sports and intensely competitive backyard games like the ones previously mentioned. Their love for "the nerdy things" certainly defines a big portion of what Ramsey and Case bonded over. It should come as no surprise to anyone that he and Ramsey often refer to Aja's engagement ring as "the ring of power" (to those of you that don't know, that's a Lord of the Rings reference). Case has come a long way from the days of bows &amp; arrows and light-sabers though. His passion for great films and technology related to that field has fueled a desire to start college in New York or California and Ramsey couldn't be more proud of his kid brother and his new found sense of style. Count on Case to be the best dressed for Aja &amp; Ramsey's big day! 

Case Davis

Alia is Ramsey's only sister and is the youngest of the 5 siblings. She was by far the one sibling that Aja was most nervous to meet. A good first impression was critical!  But after all that build-up in her head, Aja found out how great Alia is. At the relaxed setting of the Davis' lake house, those nerves quickly disappeared and the two have gotten along extremely well. They bonded over The Bachelor/Bachelorette and texted each other throughout the seasons, always making each other laugh. Growing up with 4 older brothers, Alia has always been able to stand up for herself and dish anything right back, which Aja has always admired. It's safe to say she embodies all the good characteristics of the brothers without any of their less admirable side-effects. She's a talented musician, theatrical performer &amp; student athelete with a lot to be proud of. As the baby sister, the running joke is that Alia never really ages past 12. Needless to say, she's well beyond that now getting into her Junior year of high school.  Aja feels overjoyed to be able to call Alia her sister-in-law,  and there will be so many wonderful memories to be made in the future!

Alia Davis

Thomas and Ramsey became friends in Fort Wayne through mutual high school buddies. They decided to move to Denver in August of 2011 and haven't looked back since. Thomas' goofy personality and sense of humor has always been able to make Ramsey laugh. They share countless stories together. He is a fierce and loyal friend who always makes the extra effort to demonstrate compassion; and he has created a great friendship with Aja along the way. Ramsey &amp; Aja will always cherish his friendship.

Kaitlin and Aja have known each other since 4th grade and have managed to grow their friendship more and more over the years. They truly reconnected in college when they were interning together. Whenever they would run into each other while out, Kaitlin would literally have tears of joy and Aja would ditch whoever she was hanging out with to hang out with Kaitlin (also because she knew Kaitlin would drunkenly make her fried rice once they made it home for the evening). When Kaitlin first moved to Columbus, OH after college, Aja helped her move into her new apartment, which ended up being the apartment of so many memories. Trips to see Kaitlin was always so much fun and filled with bagels, cheesecake, too much food, wine, bars, Beyonce and the best love song you've ever heard in your life. Since Aja moved to CO, Kaitlin has visited a couple of times and the trips have always been perfect. The most recent one was the most fun of all, being able to hike Emerald Lake, getting no sleep, making international calls at 3am, and reminiscing on their friendship. Kaitlin is going to be the life of the dance floor at the wedding and Aja is so excited to have Kaitlin by her side.

Jake &amp; Ramsey go all the way back to first grade... Over 20 years of friendship already, and it's showing no signs of slowing down. These two pick up right where they left off every time they see each other. Although it isn't nearly as often as they'd like, making the most of the times they hang out has become a regular practice in and of itself. Jake is spending most of his time in California now, which works out well considering all of Aja's extended family and her sister, Jade, live out there. Much more time together is around the corner to reflect on the days of Jedi training during recess.

Just look at this handsome devil! Danby &amp; Ramsey exchanged about two words before they became friends a couple weeks after the Davis family moved to Indiana from the Boston area. They connected through their passion for music, and before you knew it they formed a high school rock band. With all the time Ramsey spent jamming in their basement, the Danby's really became Ramsey's second family. Danby moved out to LA to pursue a career in film &amp; television writing a while back and the two have kept in touch over the years. Aja met him a little over a year ago at a friend's wedding. Danby knew right then and there that it was only a matter of time before Ramsey popped the question.

Clair and Aja have known each other ever since they were Sorority Sisters in Chi Omega at Indiana University. The first night that they truly connected was at a camping trip the summer before living in the house together. It wasn't really camping because Clair and Aja opted to sleep in the car. They stayed up most of the night chatting about their lives and really got to know each other. The two both share a love for cats and red wine, which inspired Clair's engagement present to Aja, a wine glass that reads "I'm getting meowied." The best story to explain Clair was when Aja and Clair were at a Pacers game. She saw a boy who was about 10 years old and he was wearing a Pacers jersey that was clearly too small for him. Clair immediately introduced herself to the boy and his father and started chatting about the Pacers, where she found out that the boy was a HUGE Boomer fan (the Pacer's mascot). Somehow, Clair was able to buy the boy a new jersey that fit him, had it signed by Boomer, and got their seats changed so that they were closer to the court. The boy and his father both started crying because they were SO thankful and excited. She has the biggest heart and Aja is more than honored to have her as a friend.

Clair Hermesch

Kate and Aja met right after college graduation and immediately grew close. They had so many similar qualities and loved planning events together. Throughout the time of knowing one another, they have always been there for each other during difficult times and that has always spoken volumes about their friendship. Though they now live in different states, they still talk daily and Kate asked Aja to be her Maid of Honor for her wedding in June. She has found the love of her life and Aja could not be more proud of Kate. Both working in the Events Industry, the two have enjoyed wedding planning together and Aja can't imagine her wedding day without Kate by her side.

Kate Argyris

Michael and Ramsey met during their freshman year at Indiana University while pledging the same fraternity. They became roommates in the fraternity the following year with their good friend and fellow groomsman, Justin. Michael &amp; Ramsey are known for being the responsible friends of their motley college crew, but still enjoy every moment of the chaos surrounding the get-togethers. They organize a ski trip to Colorado for their friends every year, meet up in Indiana whenever possible and thoroughly enjoy making Justin the butt of any joke. 

Michael Wendt

Coryn and Aja are cousins and less than a year apart. They have lived in different states since they were 5, but have always remained close. Coryn, being the social butterfly that she is, introduced Aja to some of the first parties that Aja had ever attended. One quality that is really admirable about Coryn is that she is always up for an adventure. As soon as Aja moved to CO, Coryn immediately booked a ticket to see her, and then bought another ticket to go back and visit week after the first trip. She also has always been the best at keeping in touch with all of the cousins and bringing them together. Everyone loves Coryn and her company. Being quite fashion forward, Coryn and her sister Kirstie will definitely be the most stylish at the wedding!

Coryn Lee

Ahhh, Justin. Like Michael, Ramsey and Justin met during their freshman year pledging Kappa Sigma and became roommates their sophomore year. Never in a million years should this be repeated, but Justin is just a class-act. Yes, he might have hit on Aja at a couple parties before she and Ramsey met. And yes, he may or may not be the victim of endless brotherly banter-- but the guy is a champ and if he doesn't have a jab back, he handles it all with a smile. He's a great friend, and nobody has ever made Ramsey laugh harder. The wedding just wouldn't be the same without him.    

Justin Doochin

Chrispy (kris-pee): n.~ derived from the English phrase "for the boys", meaning "memory maker". The stories don't stop. This guy is a legend, unforgettable, novel worthy. From the heart though, Chrispy just makes your day better. He'll show up when you don't expect it (or when he's needed), he'll have the best stories by the end of the night and he'd never miss an opportunity to explore or share an adventure with you. He's a former military officer who has travelled the world and lives life to the fullest every single day. He's a one man wrecking machine that would do anything for the Groom... and Ramsey would do anything for him.

Chris Park

Kirstie is also Aja's cousin and is twins with Coryn. Though Aja and Kirstie have not lived in the same state since they were 5, it still feels like they grew up together. When they were little, all of the girl cousins were always together and did so many activities such as dress up as the Spice Girls and put on concerts for the family, go rollerblading, build forts at Grandpa's house, and jump the waves at the beach. Kirstie was always the cousin that made sure Aja and Jade had a ride, a place to stay, warm blankets, and always opened her door to them. She is the kindest person who can have such a nurturing spirit and love towards others. Kirstie also has one of the loudest and most infectious laughs that everyone adores. Again, Kirstie and her sister Coryn will be the most stylist at the wedding and Aja is so honored to have them both apart of the big day.

Katie and Aja both worked together and sat next to each other at the JW Marriott. At first, things were a little slow in getting to know each other because they thought they had nothing in common. Katie was obsessed with Harry Potter and one day she asked to smell Aja's salmon that she brought to eat for lunch, which Aja thought was very odd. They ended up bonding over the most random thing, shock tarts. Those little sour candies were the ice breaker to the most amazing friendship. Katie and Aja have supported each other with every decision the other has made and they have always had each other's backs in everything. They were so sad when Aja decided to move to Colorado so they decided to make a "Flat Aja" and a "Flat Kaitlyn" (like Flat Stanley), so that they could take each other everywhere they went. Katie is the most honest and genuine person that Aja has ever met, yet she will always be the first to crack an inappropriate joke. Being apart has always been difficult, but their friendship just continues to grow stronger and stronger.

Katie Walters

Allison was the very first friend that Aja made when she moved to Colorado. They worked together in Boulder, went to trainings together and actually met Ramsey together for the first time. They were standing near the green at ViewHouse Downtown when Allison pointed Ramsey out to Aja. Since then, Allison and Aja have remained very close friends. They climbed their first 14er together, drank endless bottles of wine together (never having to share a bottle since Aja preferred red and Allison preferred white), and saw their first Colorado Dave Matthews concert together. Allison was also Aja's first friend that really got to know Ramsey extremely well. Not only is Allison one of the happiest people, she is also so chill, has the biggest heart, is friends and family oriented, and is willing to do anything for anyone. Aja truly lucked out in meeting her so quickly after moving to Colorado and becoming immediate friends. There is no doubt that Allison will be the life of the party at the wedding.

Spend a whole day exploring one of America's most scenic national parks. Stop by Denver's Winter Park Ski Resort, Grand Lake, Estes Park, and the university town of Boulder along the way.
This 225-mile (362 km) tour features the best of Colorado. Wind your way through the tunnels of Clear Creek Canyon, into the Arapaho National Forest, and over Berthoud Pass at 11,314 feet above sea level. Full-Day Rocky Mountain National Park Tour

Soar along an incredible 1,900-foot (580-m) zipline and capture a bird's-eye view of the Rocky Mountain's towering trees and lush mountainsides. Led by certified and charismatic guides, strap in and prepare for an unforgettable time zooming along Colorado's highest and fastest ziplines.
Just 30 minutes outside of Denver is an area with gigantic pine, fir, and spruce trees—the perfect environment for an expansive zipline course. Rocky Mountain Zipline Adventure

Ride the Georgetown Loop railroad and travel over Squaw Pass. Your trip includes a visit to historic Echo Lodge, and a delightful lunch with memorable mountain scenery.
This tour departs Denver and heads to the foothills—driving along Squaw Pass, you see beautiful flora and fauna. Stop at the historic Echo Lodge, known for its spectacular views, and enjoy a cup coffee. While at Echo Lake enjoy a delicious lunch combined with stunning mountain scenery.
After lunch, head to Georgetown Loop Railroad Station and board this narrow gauge train for a trip down and back up a beautiful mountain canyon. Ride along as you reach 9,000 feet (2750 m) above sea level. Be sure to bring your camera and snap a few photos as this train route provides spectacular views.
Following your train adventure, drive to a historic mining town—Georgetown. See the beautiful Victorian homes and longstanding shops. Then sit back and relax on your gorgeous drive through the Rocky Mountains as you had back to Denver.
