How to Reach Shivamogga

1. By Air
Nearest Airport: Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Airport (RQY) is the nearest airport, located about 15 kilometers from Shivamogga city.
Major Routes: The primary flight routes are from Bengaluru (BLR) and Hyderabad (HYD). IndiGo and Star Air operate flights on these routes. Some flights may also be available from Chennai and other cities.
2. By Train
Shivamogga has its own railway station, Shivamogga Town (SMET), which is well-connected to major cities.
From Bengaluru: This is the most popular train route.
From Other Cities: You can look for connecting trains to Davangere(DVG) or Harihar(HRR) both are around 2 hours away from Shivamogga
3. By Road
Shivamogga has excellent road connectivity and is a popular destination for road trips.
From Bengaluru: The distance is approximately 280 kms.
There are a couple of popular routes if you're travelling by car:
Via Tumkur and Bhadravathi: This route is generally considered the fastest, running along NH 48 and then NH 206. The travel time is around 5 to 6 hours.
Via Kunigal, Channarayapatna, and Arsikere: This is an alternative route, which might take slightly longer but offers a different scenic experience.
From Other Cities: Shivamogga is also well-connected by road to other major cities like Mangaluru, Hubballi, and Goa.
Bus Services: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates frequent and comfortable bus services (including Airavat, Rajahamsa, and non-AC sleeper buses) from Bengaluru and other cities to Shivamogga. There are also numerous private bus operators offering a variety of seating and sleeper options.

2. SBC TLGP EXP (20651): Departs from KSR Bengaluru (SBC) at 15:00 and arrives at SMET at 19:40.
3. JANSHATABDI EXP (12089): Departs from KSR Bengaluru (SBC) at 17:15 and arrives at SMET at 21:40. This is one of the fastest trains on this route.
4. MYS TLGP EXP (16227): Departs from KSR Bengaluru (SBC) at 23:15 and arrives at SMET at 05:00 the next day.
5. YPR SMET EXP (16581): Departs from Yesvantpur Junction (YPR) at 23:50 and arrives at SMET at 06:00 the next day.
Weekly Trains
1. MAS SMET SF EXP (12691): Departs from SMVT Bengaluru at 05:15 on Saturdays and arrives at SMET at 12:20.
2. TEN SMET SPL (06103): Departs from SMVT Bengaluru at 05:50 on Mondays and arrives at SMET at 13:00.
