Carter and I wanted to share with you all our story to get you excited for our wedding in August!

Alaina: When I first met Carter it was while we were working together at a restaurant in Crestview Hills. Carter kept to himself a lot but I thought he was so handsome and mysterious. A coworker of ours hinted that I should date him and at the time I thought it was ridiculous because there was no way he would ever like me . As time went on Carter and I became thick as thieves and talked quite often. I was very much in love with him but hadn’t quite admitted it to myself yet. One day Carter asked me to go to a soap place with him that had just opened nearby, and of course I said yes. I was already nervous because- I wanted it to be a date but it definitely wasn’t, so when one of the employees convinced me to custom make soap with her, I was sweating. Her and I were speaking when she had asked if Carter was my boyfriend. I told her that he wasn’t, but what came out was, “I wish he was. I’d marry him right now if he asked me to.” In that moment I looked up and Carter was smiling and waving to me at the register. In that moment I knew, “I’m going to marry him.” Now, only a couple months away from our wedding I can without a doubt say that my heart found the one it was waiting for since I started praying for my future husband at 13. I can’t imagine my life without Carter and lucky for me- I never have to.
Carter: Before you finally meet the one, everyone holds some idealistic version of how it’s supposed to go. For me, the scenario played out like any other day at work. I’d ring out customers and deliver food, hoping and waiting patiently for that one special person to walk through the door and break the monotonous veneer of life only for a second. The truth of the matter is the scenarios we create for ourselves are often the most far-fetched and most importantly, the most useless. When I first met Alaina, it was immediately clear the energy which radiates from her is one of deep compassion and understanding. We immediately connected and it wasn’t long before I considered her one of my closest friends. Anyone who knows Alaina knows she’s one of the most inquisitive people around; she cracked my mind open and wanted to envelope herself in who I am. While it took awhile for me to accept she was what I needed, I write this today knowing the fantasies we create for ourselves are pure lies. Alaina is not a momentary change of pace, she is a radiant dreamer who sees the best in everyone and everything. She is my best friend, my partner in life, and my eternal sunshine.
