As the country crawled out of the throes of quarantine, Thomas asked Alan to meet him outside of the local Starbucks to meet face-to-face for the first time.

Restless from cabin fever, nervous at meeting someone new, and a little burnt from the horrors of dating as adults, both men took a chance to sip a latte with a stranger.

As if some comedic sign from the cosmos, Alan disclosed he embodied the stereotypical Scorpio, sharing a birthday with Hillary Clinton, to which Thomas stunningly replied that he embodied the sign of Leo, sharing the birthday of President Bill Clinton.

Neither could have ever imagined the adventure that would unfold over the following weeks, months, and now years later, but the dynamics were exactly as one would imagine.

Alan thrust Thomas’s gentle spirit into a fast-paced, competitive whirlwind, and Thomas became the only person who could bring a steady calm to his winds of change.

With time, Thomas entered an intense world of school events, homework, and custody schedules. Although, he never had dated anyone with children before, he quickly became a fixture at the Coulter house and would be what would make it the Coulter-Logan home.

Even today, the couple stands in awe of how perfectly the pieces all fit together, knowing that a Power far greater than themselves seems to have had a hand in a love story still unfolding—full of laughs, redemption, and adventure.

Truly, in the end, love wins.
