Our journey began in the summer of 2015, on a picturesque camping trip to Big Sur, where we met through a mutual friend. Little did we know, this meeting would mark the start of a beautiful friendship that would eventually blossom into something more.

Over the next few years, we kept in touch, exchanging casual hellos and catching up on each other's lives. However, beneath the surface, a deeper connection was quietly taking root. It was evident to both of us - though we kept it close to our hearts, thinking the other wouldn’t notice - that there was a growing mutual interest and attraction.

As time passed, our communication became more frequent and meaningful. He had graduated from Humboldt State and moved to Ukiah, CA, while I was living and working in Southern California. Despite the distance, our bond continued to strengthen.

The turning point came when he invited me to celebrate a friend's birthday in Humboldt. Despite the whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, my heart urged me to go. That weekend was transformative, filled with beautiful hikes, beach walks, and most importantly, an undeniable feeling of being home in each other's presence. We both felt it - our connection was magic.

After that weekend, our daily communication became a lifeline, and we eagerly made plans to see each other whenever we could. Our official start as a couple came in the spring of 2018, during a weekend in Santa Barbara, where we enjoyed a concert by Chicano Batman and Portugal the Man. It was then that we both knew - our hearts and love knew no distance.

For three years, we maintained a long-distance relationship, cherishing every moment spent together and creating new memories with our families, friends, and our beloved dog, Rio. Talks of moving in together and setting roots would surface, only to be temporarily set aside as we parted, always with a promise to see each other again soon.

On July 10th, 2021, during a romantic moment along the Salmon River, he asked me to be his wife and life journey companion. It was a fairy tale moment, and without hesitation, I said, 'YEEES!' That fall, we both set roots in Humboldt County, and now, a little over two years later, we find ourselves planning our wedding and living in love and harmony as a family with Rio.

We are beyond excited to have our favorite people and family join us as we celebrate the union of our love and embark on this next chapter as husband and wife. Our hearts are full of gratitude for having found each other, and we look forward to a future filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures together.

Nuestra historia comenzó en el verano de 2015, en un pintoresco viaje de campamento a Big Sur, donde nos conocimos a través de un amigo en común. Lo que no sabíamos es que este encuentro marcaría el comienzo de una hermosa amistad que eventualmente se convertiría en algo más.

Durante los siguientes años, nos mantuvimos en contacto, intercambiando saludos casuales y poniéndonos al día sobre nuestras vidas. Sin embargo, debajo de la superficie, una conexión más profunda estaba echando raíces silenciosamente. Era evidente para ambos (aunque lo mantuvimos cerca de nuestro corazón, pensando que el otro no se daría cuenta) que había un interés y una atracción mutua creciendo.

A medida que pasó el tiempo, nuestra comunicación se volvió más frecuente y significativa. Él se graduó de Humboldt State y se mudó a Ukiah, CA, mientras yo vivía y trabajaba en el sur de California. A pesar de la distancia, nuestro vínculo siguió fortaleciéndose.

El punto que cambio todo llegó cuando me invitó a celebrar el cumpleaños de una amiga en Humboldt. A pesar del torbellino de pensamientos y emociones, mi corazón me instistió a ir. Ese fin de semana fue transformador, lleno de hermosas caminatas, paseos por la playa y, lo más importante, una sensación innegable de estar en casa en presencia de los dos. Ambos lo sentimos: nuestra conexión era mágica.

Después de ese fin de semana, nuestra comunicación diaria se convirtió en un salvavidas y con entusiasmo hicimos planes para vernos siempre que pudiéramos. Nuestro inicio oficial como pareja se produjo en la primavera de 2018, durante un fin de semana en Santa Bárbara, donde disfrutamos de un concierto de Chicano Batman y Portugal the Man. Fue entonces cuando ambos lo supimos: nuestros corazones y nuestro amor no conocían distancias.

Durante tres años, mantuvimos una relación a larga distancia, apreciando cada momento que pasamos juntos y creando nuevos recuerdos con nuestras familias, amigos y nuestro querido perro, Rio. Surgian conversaciones sobre mudarnos juntos y echar raíces, solo para quedar temporalmente de lado cuando nos despedíamos, siempre con la promesa de volvernos a ver pronto.

El 10 de julio de 2021, durante un momento romántico junto al río Salmon, me pidió que fuera su esposa y compañera de viaje de vida. Fue un momento de cuento de hadas y, sin dudarlo, dije: '¡SÍ!' Ese otoño, ambos echamos raíces en el condado de Humboldt y ahora, poco más de dos años después, nos encontramos planeando nuestra boda y viviendo en amor y armonía como familia con Río.

Estamos más que emocionados de que nuestras personas y familiares favoritos se unan a nosotros mientras celebramos la unión de nuestro amor y nos embarcamos en este próximo capítulo como marido y mujer. Nuestros corazones están llenos de gratitud por habernos encontrado y esperamos un futuro lleno de amor, risas e infinitas aventuras juntos.
