Our Wedding

CROW

Many of you have already met Crow and know how complicated his situation is. For those of you who have not, I cannot begin to tell all the ways that makes Crow the special boy that he is without writing a book, but to make a very long story short... Hi, my name is Crow. I am a solid black German shepherd that was born in the middle of 2020 and the pandemic. I am epileptic (seizures), allergic to just about everything you can imagine, and have separation anxiety that triggers the seizures. I will be at the wedding (ring bear), because all of my usual caretakers will be there and there is no one else to watch me. Please know that I am NOT a threat to you or your children! Since I was born during COVID, people that I do not see every day make me nervous. I like to show it with my very big / loud bark, but I do it because I am scared. I will run away from you before resorting to any violent behaviors. To help ease my anxieties and any that you may have, here are a few rules to help avoid any awkward situations that may come up:

Rules

1. Ignore Me: I know that I am a handsome boy, but you are scary (especially if you are a man wearing a hat). If you try to pet me, I am going to bark at you and then everyone is going to look at us and it is going to be really awkward. So, please respect my boundary by ignoring me and letting me do my own thing. I usually just want to find a safe spot near one of my main humans and watch from a distance. The more you try to touch me, the more I will bark and try to avoid you. 2. DO NOT FEED ME: Even though I am scared of you, sometimes I get brave and try to convince you to give me food. Please do not give in to my puppy eyes and do NOT feed me! It is easier to list the food I am NOT allergic to than the ones that I am. If you feed me food I am allergic to, it will cause me a very upset stomach and potentially trigger a future seizure. 3. If I have a seizure... please give me some room so my people can make sure I am okay and help me in the best way they know how. Sometimes I just zone out and drool a lot, but sometimes I have big shaking seizures. If you think I am acting funny and one of my humans are not nearby, please get one of them as fast as you can.

Registry

To better accommodate Colton’s new work schedule, we decided to delay the honeymoon by a couple weeks and go at the end of June / beginning of July. The night of the wedding we plan to keep it simple and spend the night in an Airbnb somewhere relatively close to home. Even though Alana has lived in multiple states across the US, she has never been on a plane. Colton flew when he was younger, but has never went farther south than Georgia . The farthest we have travelled together is to Tennessee and neither of us have ever travelled outside of the country. For our honeymoon, we wanted to try new things and travel somewhere neither of us had ever been before. So...

We are so very excited to be going to an all inclusive resort in Mexico!!!

Alana will get to fly for the first time and our connecting flights will allow Colton to step foot in Texas for the first time!   We plan to snorkel and visit some of the Mayan ruins while we are there, but more than anything we want to relax. We cannot wait for the days we will get to spend together celebrating our love and making new memories that will last us forever!

Where it all began...

Both of us knew of each other in high school, but we never really talked or had any connection with one another. At some point during high school we had an ag class together, but that was the extent of our high school relationship. At the very end of January 2022, Colton messaged Alana on Facebook. Within a week, we were going on our first date to Macados. As nervous as we both were for our first date, it went so well. It wasn't hard to make conversation and we started to find things that we had in common really quickly. After we ate, we drove around for hours before we ended up back at Colton's house to watch a movie. It didn't take long at all before we were hanging out every chance we got. We both knew that we had something special and we still do.

Lots of Weddings

Within the first year of dating, we went to 4 weddings together. We were thankful to be able to attend all four with each other. It feels so surreal that we are about to experience our own wedding in June!

First Christmas

We spent our first Christmas together in the hospital because Alana had to have an emergency surgery to remove her appendix. Colton barely left Alana's side during the whole thing.

Engaged!

On February 23rd, 2024, Colton popped the question and Alana said YES! We were at home in our pjs and it was perfect. We decided to have a long engagement so Alana could finish up grad school. After a year of being engaged, we are still giddy and are getting more and more eager to upgrade to husband / wife status!
