Let’s rewind.Before Kyle, Alana was on a journey of self-discovery, a mix of journaling, solo Target runs, and perfecting the art of politely declining dates that gave red flag energy. Somewhere in that time, she even wrote down a list of qualities her future man had to have. Meanwhile, Kyle wasn’t just sitting around either. He was on a deep personal and spiritual growth path, figuring out who he was, what mattered, and who he wanted to share life with. Not just anyone would do. He had built something worth protecting, and he was waiting to meet someone who saw life the way he did: as something to build, not just experience. On June 17th, 2020 enters Bumble.Yes, a dating app. Yes, during peak COVID. No, we didn’t think it would work either.And yet, here we are. On June 20, 2020 Alana showed up cautiously optimistic, with one eyebrow raised and a mental checklist. She still didn’t know Kyle’s height (a very important factor for a tall woman), and she was prepared to dip if anything felt off. Kyle showed up equally guarded. After all, he had a story not everyone could understand, and he wasn’t interested in wasting time. But something felt different this time. Genuine. Easy.Maybe it was the conversation. Maybe it was the cheesecake. Maybe it was the way they both pretended not to be judging each other while secretly thinking, Wait… this might actually be something. Five months later, on Nov 21, 2020 after countless conversations, mini adventures, and quiet moments that made the world feel a little less chaotic, Kyle asked Alana to officially be his girlfriend before she flew home for Thanksgiving.It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t performative. It just felt right. And that’s been the theme ever since. From pandemic walks to deep talks, supporting each other’s goals, and learning how to love in ways that feel real and grounded, we’ve built something that feels like home. Not perfect. Not scripted. Just real.We’ve grown together. We’ve challenged each other. We’ve laughed a lot, had tough conversations, and turned “us” into something worth celebrating.And now, here we are. Getting married. Surrounded by the people we love.Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to start this next chapter with all of you there to witness it.
