Dress Code

Our wedding dress code is Semi formal. Semi formal wedding attire sits at the sweet spot between understated dressy and elevated casual. It’s also commonly referred to as “dressy casual” — which can be viewed as a weekend version of business casual.&nbsp;

Adult only event

While we love your kids all scheduled events are adults only. We are hoping this also allows all guests, including parents, a night of relaxation. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Transportation

We will be providing transportation from downtown Portsmouth to the ceremony site, then to the venue, and then a final ride back to downtown Portsmouth. Parking is limited at both ceremony and reception site so we encourage you to use the shuttle service.

Like any other couple in 2020 in the start of a pandemic we met online through a dating app. Our first date was at Dryft on Revere Beach. We started with some drinks and followed it with ice cream and a long walk on the beach. After a few more dates we quickly knew this was the real thing.

How we met

We knew very early that we had something special and we spent every weekend together. It was a "long distance" relationship at first. Shawn was a south shore boy and Alanna lived in Winthrop, so often they took turns driving north or south to be together. In April of 2021 we decided to get an apartment together. After a few months on lovely route one, with the insanity of the housing market, we decided to begin the hunt for a home. On April 14th 2022 we closed on our home in North Reading.

Moving in & Buying a Home

We had been talking about spending forever together for awhile before Shawn proposed on July 16th 2022. After Alanna's open heart surgery in the end of May we had been spending every day together, Shawn was the most amazing nurse! This made it very difficult to surprise Alanna with a proposal when she was always around. However, on that day in July, Alanna went with her sister to her wedding dress fitting giving Shawn time to set up the house and mentally prepare. When Alanna got home Shawn was on one knee in the kitchen, with Chris Stapleton playing, flowers displayed, and candles lit. We were both overwhelmed and so happy to take this next step in life together.
