Reluctant app users, Alanna and Jonathan matched in December 2021 and after a few weeks of conversation agreed to get drinks in the city after the holidays. They hit it off, discovering that they both shared a love of sports, travel and Simon and Garfunkel, and Jonathan texted Alanna asking to have dinner the next week. After a nerve-wracking delay (Jonathan forgot Alanna was skiing that weekend and had limited cell service) she agreed, unbeknownst to Jonathan breaking her rule to only have drinks for a second date. After a few more outings they officially started dating and slowly became inseparable. After months of trips, watching baseball and football games and playing innumerable rounds of board and card games together, Jonathan and Alanna moved in together in Brooklyn in March of 2023. A few weeks later Jonathan tricked Alanna into going to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge with him to run an “errand” in the cold and rain, got down on one knee, and the rest is history. We can’t wait to celebrate our love story and the beginning of the rest of our lives with all of you.
