Adam and Alayna went on their first date! Just the day before Adam stumbled across Alayna's Instagram account and saw that she was a nursing major. He asked one of his friends, Dayle Davis, that happened to be a nursing major, if she knew Alayna. Fate had it that Dayle had just been assigned Alayna's student mentor that week! She connected the two of them the night before this date. Adam and Alayna immediately hit it off.

Adam and Alayna continued to hang out almost every day. They would always meet up on campus to study, have a good meal, go for a coffee run, or just drive around town and listen to music. They'd stay up late every night to hang out and get to know each other. They weren't official yet, but they were always together.

Adam went on a Study abroad trip to Cuba. Adam ended up getting super sick on the trip while having little access to internet. Meanwhile back in the United States COVID was in full swing. Washburn was extending spring break, the NCAA tournament was cancelled, and the boarders were getting shut down. Adam had access to his phone for about an hour a day, and he saw during this time that Alayna cared greatly about him being okay and making it home safely in unprecedented times.

Alayna met up with Adam after not seeing eachother for weeks (that was the longest they had gone since they met without hanging out). The dorms were shutting down so they worked hard to move Adam out of his dorm in only 2 hours. Nothing was packed, everything was just as Adam had left it for his spring break trip. Adam had nowhere in town to live and with the dorms shut down he had to move back to his hometown of Winfield Kansas which was two and a half hours away from Alayna.

Adam and Alayna made it official. Alayna went out to check her mail and Adam had sent her a birthday card. She was supossed to wait until her birthday to open it but she tore it open one day early. Inside the card, Adam proposed the idea of making it official. Alayna of course said yes making their anniversary just one day before her birthday (easy for Adam to remember).

Adam and Alayna finished up their semesters online. They got to see each other occasionally during COVID times. Over the weekends when Adam wasn't busy working and doing online school, he would drive up to see Alayna.

Alayna and Adam had a nice date night at the cheesecake factory followed by watching Hamilton that would be a tradition on the 3rd of July for years to come

Adam and Alayna celebrated their first 4th of July together, one of Adam's favorite holidays.

After a long summer of doing distance, Adam finally moved back to Topeka into an Apartment with 2 roommates. Alayna and Adam celebrated by having a nice dinner at the Basil Leaf Café in Lawrence. Adam and Alayna played dots and boxes while they waited for their food; Adam ended up losing. They were happy to be back together and get back to in-person school even if it looked a little different. Fun Fact: Alayna and Adam actually decided to have the catering for the rehearsal dinner be the Basil Leaf Café

Alayna made her first trip to see Adam's dad and Grandma in Bella Vista Arkansas. They spent time fishing on the lake, and eating some of grandma's hot and fresh homemade cinnamon rolls.

Adam and Alayna celebrated 2 years of Adam being cancer free! Alayna gifted Adam a shadow box representing his cancer journey.

Adam turns 22!

Alayna and Adam celebrated their first Christmas together. Alayna gifted Adam a painted paint by number of a picture of the two of them and Adam gifted Alayna a photography session so they could have nice pictures together.

Alayna and Adam got their pictures done. At this time Adam and Alayna were getting ready to start anoter semester of school. Alayna was still working at Stormont Vail while Adam continued to work in the Governor's office.

Alayna and Adam Celebrate 1 year of knowing each other, and also their 2nd Valentine's day together. They enjoyed a nice steak dinner at North Star.

Alayna and Adam have one last date night before Adam moved back to Winfield for the whole summer. This would be the last summer that they would have to spend apart.

Adam and Alayna go on their first vacation to Myrtle Beach! This turned out to be the first of their annual trips to Myrtle Beach.

Adam and Alayna head back to school. Alayna starts her last semester of nursing school while Adam starts his final year of school for his degree.

Adam and Alayna Celebrated their 3rd valentine's day together with their annual tradition of what they did on their 3rd date. They ordered an extra large peperoni pizza from AJ's Pizzeria and watched a star is born.

Alayna and Adam celbrate KU wining the NCAA tournament. They actually ended up getting COVID here and spending their 2nd anniversary and Alayna's 22nd birthday in quarantine (totally worth it).

Adam and Alayna had a date night celebrating the first month of 2023. They both prioritized getting to work in 2023 and already so much had changed in 2023. Alayna was starting a relationship with Jesus while Adam was rekindling his. They both started prioritizing themselves, but also their health as they looked to work towards the future together.

Adam finally popped the question to Alayna. She was on to him the whole week!

Alayna and Adam celebrate the Chiefs winning another super bowl. It was ring season for everyone.

Adam and Alayna have a March date night. They decided where they wanted to have the wedding on this date, and started some of the basic wedding planning.

Alayna and Adam started Merge a marriage ministry at their church which focuses on preparing couples for marriage. Here Adam and Alayna began to seriously work on building their marriage and being intentional with their relationship.

Alayna and Adam celebrate their first Easter together as Christians! This Easter was extra specials because both of them could see and feel all the work God has done in their life so far this year. There was lots to celebrate!

Adam and Alayna celebrate Alayna's 23rd birthday and their 3rd anniversary by spending the whole weekend together and ending it with a delicious dinner at Lidia's where they ate after they got engaged.

Adam and Alayna made their first big purchase together and bought a nice 2023 Kia Sportage!
