Thursday - July 2nd

We will be kicking off the wedding celebrations with a pre-wedding party at the bride's childhood home! There will be traditional Salvadorean food and drinks and some music, making it easier for everyone to get acquainted with one another. The address will be shared closer to the event, but please let us know if you plan to attend. Dress code: Cocktail attire - we recommend linen to combat the heat!

Friday - July 3rd 

Need to relax and recharge before the big day? While we are busy with wedding prep, here are some of our favourite ways to unwind. As you may know, we enjoy good food, so you can always explore delicious restaurants in San Salvador, La Libertad, or the volcano. Alternatively, spend the day strolling, shopping and eating in the charming beach town of El Tunco. For those looking for a relaxing experience, we have included an option for you to get a massage or other treatments. Take a look at the "Things to do" page for our recommendations.

Saturday - July 4th

Our big day! All you need to worry about is getting to the church ceremony for 2:45 PM. From there onwards, your transport will be taken care of.   The day will start in San Salvador for our church ceremony, at La Parroquia San Benito, but the celebrations will take place on the skirts of the volcano of San Salvador, which is about 20-30 minutes away from the city, depending on the traffic.   Please note that traffic can be quite congested on weekends, so allow ample time for travel.   Dress code: Formal - black or dark suits for men and floor lenth evening gowns for women.

Sunday - July 5th

El Salvador is home to the folklore tale of El Cadejo - the urban legend of a white dog that protects those on their way home, and an evil black dog that will lead you astray. And you know what they say... the hair of the dog is the perfect hangover cure. In the late morning, we will be heading to <a href="https://cervezacadejo.com/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Cadejo Brewing Company</a> for artisanal beers and food, in El Sunzal, where you will be able to see some incredible views of the beach. We will then head to La Bonita to have some drinks by the beach and enjoy the afternoon.

Travelling to El Salvador

Currency: El Salvador's currency is USD (and Bitcoin). You will generally be ok with card transactions/Apple pay, but we recommend bringing some cash for local shops and other activities. Airport Name: SAL - El Salvador International Airport (San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez) Entering El Salvador: Passport Expiry: Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive. No need for a visa: EU, UK, US, Canadian and South American passport holders. Who needs a visa: All other nationalities will likely require a visa to enter El Salvador.

Transport when landing:   In due course we will share how you can schedule your airport pick-up with one of our transportation partners.   Transport to main events and activities:   We will provide transportation from the church ceremony to the wedding venue and from the wedding venue back into the city.   Getting your own transport:   Uber is widely used in El Salvador (though we recommend Uber Executive), but keep in mind that it can take some time to find a driver. Reception staff at your hotel can help you schedule taxis for more punctuality. We will also be providing contact numbers of trusted drivers available on demand.

El Centro Historico

The <a href="https://centrohistorico.gob.sv/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Centre of El Salvador</a> is an area that has been redeveloped in recent years. This is where you can find a mix of colonial architecture and modern investments, like the National Library. The historic centre also has great restaurants to explore.

Hike - Santa Ana Volcano

You can find information on how to get to the volcano and hike the volcano <a href="https://elsalvador.travel/destination/santa-ana-volcano-ilamatepec/en/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>. Also close to the Santa Ana volcano is the <a href="https://elsalvador.travel/destination/cerro-verde/en/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cerro Verde Nature Park</a> where you can also find other hiking trails.

Lago Coatepeque

<a href="https://elsalvador.travel/destination/coatepeque-lake/en/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Coatepeque Lake</a> is a volcanic lake formed by an eruption 50,000–70,000 years ago. It is known for its blue waters, which sometimes turn turquoise, making it a popular destination for water sports, dining, and scenic views.

La Costa del Sol

The <a href="https://elsalvador.travel/destination/costa-del-sol/en/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Costa del Sol</a> is one of the most popular beaches in El Salvador, unlike beaches in La Liberta, this beach is surrounded by a valley. The Costa del Sol has many accomodations in close proximity which make it a great destination to enjoy the beach and seafood.

El Salvador's most well known <a href="https://elsalvador.travel/category/archaeological-parks/en/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">archeological sites</a> are Tazumal and Joya de Ceren. El Salvador was home to the Mayas and Pipil. These archeological sites can give you a glimpse into the daily life of the Mayas and their ceremonial sites.
