WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY STAY?

As soon as possible! Even though our wedding is not until December, rooms book quickly at this resort. WE DO NOT HAVE ANY ROOMS HELD. You must book your room in advance, directly through the resort. No deposit is required to reserve a room, and with our promo code, all of the rooms offer refundable rates, meaning you can book them now and cancel free of charge up until 24 hours before your reservation dates. Therefore, there is no reason to wait on booking!

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO BOOK MY STAY?

You must book your stay directly through Excellence Riviera Cancun. You MUST CALL to book your stay and make sure to give the wedding promo code over the phone. You cannot book online. This ensures you receive the discount for attending our wedding, and a few other perks, all listed in the "Travel" section of our web page. Step by step instructions are listed there for how to call and book your room, as well as the promo code needed to receive the discount on your stay!

IS THERE A BLOCK OF ROOMS ALREADY RESERVED FOR MY STAY?

No, there are no reserved rooms or "blocks" reserved for our guests. Guests are responsible for booking their rooms at their earliest convenience to ensure they are able to stay at Excellence. No deposit is required to book a room, therefore, the earlier you book, the better. If you wait to book, there is no guarantee you will get the suite/room you desire. All rooms booked within the resort using our wedding promo code will allow you to cancel up to 24 hours prior to your stay without any penalty or fees.

HOW DO I GET TO THE RESORT? WHAT TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE?

Given that our wedding is being held in Cancun, Mexico, guests are required to fly to the Cancun International Airport (CUN). From there, the Excellence resort offers a shuttle to and from the Cancun International Airport, complimentary with any stay of 3 nights or more. If you do not wish to stay for at least 3 nights, please note you can still take advantage of the resort's shuttle services for an additional fee. For single passengers and pairs of 2, the fee will be $174 total round trip; for 3-5 passengers, the fee will be $194 round trip. You may choose to use other transportation services as well. More details will be added to the website regarding transportation/shuttle services soon, under the "travel" section.

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

No, children are not allowed to attend, as the resort enforces a strict adults-only policy. We have chosen to keep our wedding reserved for adults (18 and older).

WHAT ALL IS INCLUDED IN MY STAY AT THE EXCELLENCE RIVIERA CANCUN RESORT?

This resort is ALL-INCLUSIVE. All of your food, beverages, on-site activities, taxes, fees, and gratuities will be included in your booking, along with the room in which you will be staying. Of the many activities available at the resort, there are only 3 that would incur an additional charge, those are listed under the "Things to Do" section of our webpage. Also, if you choose to attend excursions off-site or leave the resort premise, you are responsible for those additional charges. The other fee you may come across would be as mentioned above, a transportation fee to and from the airport if you are not planning to stay at the resort for at least 3 nights.

DOES THE RESORT OFFER FOOD OPTIONS FOR RESTRICTED DIETS (VEGAN, VEGETARIAN, GLUTEN-FREE, ETC)?

Yes, there will be options for all dietary restrictions. Please let the bride and groom know of any dietary restrictions prior to attendance so that they may make sure you are served an appropriate meal at the reception!

WILL THERE BE AN OPEN BAR AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION?

Yes, the wedding reception, as well as the hour-long cocktail hour, will be open bar. Also note that if you are staying as a guest at the Excellence resort, you will have unlimited access to any bars within the resort itself for the duration of your stay.

WILL THERE BE A WEDDING REGISTRY? DO I NEED TO BRING A GIFT?

No. We know we are asking a lot of our friends and family to travel for our wedding; therefore we do not expect any gifts and will not have a wedding registry set up. However, if any guests are intent on bringing a gift, they are always welcome and appreciated.

IS THERE AN ITINIERARY?

Yes. For guests standing up in the ceremony, there will be a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner held on Thursday, December 12th. For all other guests, the only mandatory event is the wedding itself, held on Friday, December 13th at 5 pm. There will likely be a brunch held Saturday December, 14th for guests who would like to join, and some excursions we will book in advance, in which any guests will be welcome to join us for, however these are completely optional! More details on this are coming soon!

HOW DO I RSVP?

Once formal invitations are sent out, there will be a link on this website at the top of the page, titled "RSVP", where guests can RSVP online. We will not be requiring anything to be mailed back to us, as we would like to save the trees! Even though we do not require an official answer or RSVP yet, we still encourage guests who think they might join us, to book their stay as soon as possible to ensure room availability. Again, rooms do not have to be paid for in advance. It is entirely free to book a room now, and all rooms booked with our wedding promo code will offer a full refund up until 24 hours prior to their stay.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

The answer is based on how your save the dates and/or invitations were addressed. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we did have a maximum number of guests with our wedding package, and unfortunately we could not invite everyone we know and love and could not give everyone a plus one. We hope you understand.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE WEDDING CEREMONY AND RECEPTION? WILL THE EVENTS TAKE PLACE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

Yes, there is a dress code that is enforced by the resort. It requires all attendees to dress in casual elegance. This dress code is as follows:

MEN: long pants and collared shirts

WOMEN: dresses, skirts, blouses, capri pants, & long pants

Casual shoes or elegant sandals MUST be worn!

The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception will ALL be held outdoors.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

The weather in Cancun, Mexico, in December averages around 80-85 degrees during the day and around 70 degrees at night.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WEDDING CEREMONY?

There will be a cocktail hour following the ceremony, at 6 pm. Hors de'oeuvres will be served and there will be an open bar and live band during this time. Following the cocktail hour will be a dinner reception from 7-11 pm. Dinner will be served, and there will be open bar access, music and dancing!

AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTOS AT THE WEDDING? CAN I POST ANYTHING ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

Yes, absolutely. Pictures are welcome and encouraged. And yes, anyone may post anything on social media as they see fit.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?

The cost of your trip to Cancun will vary depending on how long you plan to stay and which suite you plan to book. A chart is listed below with pricing details AFTER you apply our promo code for our wedding discount, found under the "Travel" link at the top of the webpage. Please note these rates are listed per person based on how many people will be staying in your room. For example, if you have 2 people staying in your room, you would view the "double" column price for the suite you chose, and multiply that price by 2 to get your full total per night. Also note, these prices per night include all of your food, drinks, resort activities, taxes, fees, and gratuities for the duration of your stay. One last and final thing to note, these discounted prices are only available to our wedding guests for the dates of December 11th through December 18th, and MUST be booked by October 11th, 2024.
