Our Wedding

Every love story is beautiful, but ours is our favorite. Alejandro was born and raised in Ventura, California, move to southern Idaho 15 years ago. Breanna, spent her whole life in California before relocating to southern Idaho in the spring of 2023. Life had its plans—and so did fate. We met on a dating website, and from the very beginning, something felt different. Our first date was in November 2024, and it didn’t take long for both of us to realize we had found something truly special. That night, Alejandro told his mom, “I’m going to marry her.” He just knew. Even when life pulled us in different directions—Breanna eventually moved back to California after feeling homesick—our connection only grew stronger. Distance couldn’t dim what we had. We stayed committed, building our relationship through constant communication, and unwavering support. In April, Alejandro came to California to meet Breanna’s parents, and returned in May to spend time with her extended family and enjoy a few days of sunshine and celebration. And then, on May 31st, 2025, in a moment that will forever be etched in our hearts, Alejandro proposed—and Breanna said yes! Now, we’re excited to start this next chapter of our journey—together, hand in hand—with all of you there to celebrate our forever.

San Buenaventura Mission

Just outside downtown, featuring hillside trails and coastal panoramas. HOURS Tuesdays — Sundays 9am to 5pm, closed Mondays. $7 admission for the general public.

Ventura Botanical Gardens

Shortly after the Mission’s founding, a large wooden cross was planted on top of a hill overlooking the Mission church. This highly visible cross served as a road sign for travelers in search of the Mission. The original cross was eventually lost to the elements and replaced in the 1860s. After the second cross blew down in a storm on November 5, 1875, it was not replaced for almost 40 years.

Serra Cross Park

Surfer’s Point, off Figueroa Street, includes one of California’s premier surfing and windsurfing spots. A landscaped promenade and the Omer Rains Bike Trail connect this sandy beach to the Ventura Pier. Promenade Park, next to the beach commemorates the site of an ancient Chumash village. Beach and park facilities include restrooms, showers, a spacious lawn and picnic tables and grills.

Surfers Point At Seaside Park

This mural is a dedicated to all of those who ones lived in around the west side Ventura neighborhood known as Tortilla Flats earlier it was known as Tigertown in the 1880s. It was called Spanish town and/or Indian town. The indigenous Chumash named the area “Shisholop”. The mural is narrative, depicting, historically significant or interesting buildings and pictures the varied cultural backgrounds of the population Chumash, Mexican, Spanish, Asian, African-American, and European. Which evolved into Ventura as we know it today. The images were selected from old photographs and inspired by interviews with former resident residents of the neighborhood. The mural is intended to celebrate an honor of the families and businesses that were displaced by the 101 freeway in the 1950s.

Tortilla Flats Mural

Started in 1961 by Tom Hale. Tom handled manufacturing and retail was taken care of by Terry Jones, winner of the first pro contest, the Morey-Pope Noseriding Invitational. Shortly thereafter William Blinky Hubina became the first employee of Morey-Pope Surfboards, where he worked with future partner Dennis Ryder. In 1967 Blinky and Dennis started William-Dennis Surfboards. More changes in 1980 as Stan Fujii purchases the shop and Blinky leaves for greener pastures in the restaurant business. In 1986, Stan changed the shop name from William-Dennis to the Ventrua Surf Shop. We moved from Front Street to our current location at 88 E. Thompson Blvd. in 1995. 5 years later, Stan sells the shop to Mark Ellison, who promptly installs Bill Blinky Hubina as Managing Partner. And in 2012, Blinky buys back the surf shop to run as his own.
