Our Story

Some love stories start with a spark, but ours took a little extra time to catch fire. When we first met in 2019, thanks to some well-meaning friends, our connection was purely platonic—our paths had crossed, but the timing just wasn’t quite right. Fast forward to the 4th of July in 2021—once again, our friends played matchmakers, and this time, the fireworks weren’t just in the sky! There was only one problem… he didn’t get her number. Luckily, our friends weren’t about to let fate slip away again. A "casual" group dinner was arranged (where we just happened to be seated next to each other), and this time, we finally had a real chance to connect. We bonded instantly over our shared love of climbing, snowboarding, and even Dungeons &amp; Dragons. By the end of the night, he had her number, and the rest is history. Well… almost. Our first date had to wait, because she was off to Mexico to get SCUBA certified. But as soon as she was back, we finally had that long-awaited date—and we’ve been inseparable ever since. So much so that he eventually got SCUBA certified too, ensuring that all our underwater adventures could be shared. Since then, we’ve traveled all over the U.S., visited multiple foreign countries together, and made countless unforgettable memories along the way. And this is just the beginning! By October 2023, we made it official—sharing not just our hearts, but a home. And on December 9th, 2023, he got down on one knee and asked the easiest question she’s ever answered. Now, here we are, ready to celebrate our forever—and all the adventures still to come!

The Surf Hotel &amp; Chateau is not only lodging for your trip, but will also be the ceremony and reception venue. The Surf Hotel proper is a beautiful 3-story Art Deco boutique hotel on the Arkansas River in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. The Surf Chateau is located right next to the hotel proper and is a series of French-chateau-inspired cottages lining a quaint courtyard. We highly recommend choosing to stay at the Surf Hotel &amp; Chateau for the wedding so you don't need to arrange for transportation.
