I met Derek one evening coming home from school (college) through his cousin Danny. We exchanged numbers and then he called me. On our very first call, we talked on the phone for about an hour or longer! I had butterflies and blushing the entire phone call. It felt like we were in high school again! I had just had my first daughter Aryauna and Derek's son lil Derek was about to turn a year old. During our conversation on the phone he asked me: What is your favorite restaurant'? I was so excited to share my favorite restaurant as that time was Fridays (LOL)! Derek immediately said okay we have to plan a date so that I can take you to Fridays. Everyday after that we talked and met up with each other every chance we got. Any place he was, I wanted to be and vice versa. Even though he did not have a lot of free time back then, he made time for me with no exceptions. We would meet at his Grandmother old house and just spend time together until the sun came up and then he would take me home. Those were some of the best and memorable times to me ever. He treated and showed me love like I never seen or felt it before. As the years went along, we grew stronger together than apart. In 2021, we became parents to a beautiful set of twins (boy and girl)! We then moved in together and the life that I manifested was really coming to life! Literally everything I wanted and more was happening right in front of me so fast! In 2024, we moved into our first home together. We welcomed our third child together to complete our family now of 7 beautiful children: “Danae”, being the eldest, lil Derek, “Aryauna”, Ahmad, Damari & Dyaire, and last Miss Aalyric and our story continues. Everyday we get closer to GOD. We put GOD in front of everything. We both have grown so much in every area of our lives and I'm just so grateful and honored to be able to not only call him my best friend, but now my soon to be Husband!
