It started with a match—both struck and true—A quiet flame that steadily once grew.She spoke of Spirit, poetry, and Grace,And stirred a kindred warmth within that space.Our first shared night was tacos, not routine;No small talk—just the space that lived between.We spoke of minds, of feelings, and of Grace—She lit a fire I couldn’t help but chase.I kissed her then (a move she came to prize),And quickly planned the next beneath her eyes.She walks through life with quiet strength and poise,A steady heart that lifts and softly joys.She loves my care, my slowness made of will,The way I learn to love her better still.Each challenge came and taught our hearts to bend—To meet again as partners and as friends.One mountaintop re-shaped the things I knew—“I love you” broke the dam of “liking” you.That moment marked the deepening of flame,A love that flows yet never stays the same.I asked her near a waterfall one day,Where constant waters mirrored what we pray:A bond that doesn’t end but moves and grows,A river fed by Grace in all it knows.Now side by side we work, we blend, we build,With open arms, and dreams that won’t be stilled.We greet each day with hugs that hold us close,And walk a path that both of us have chose.We look ahead and see a life well-spent,Like Allie’s folks in East Tennessee, content.
