Alex and Dylan met in an unconventional way. Alex had been attending Truman State University where she met her good friend Andy Fritz who was a CBS Survivor fan like herself. This shared fandom led to Andy asking Alex if she wanted to play an online version of the smash hit reality TV show Survivor. Many years prior, the same proposition was brought to Dylan, through his friend Russ Bartlett. Russ and Dylan had met online on a Survivor Subreddit.

This led to Alex and Dylan playing the same online Survivor season hosted by Kodi Host. Both started on different tribes, but survived to meet each other at the merge. Then Alex voted Dylan out.

Fear not, the story continues.

Despite the short period of time in the game together, Alex and Dylan continued to communicate with each other daily. Eventually reaching the point where they considered each other best friends, having never even met each other in person.

Then, 2020 hit. Everyone in the world was distraught and stressed. So Alex and Dylan decided to play another online Survivor game hosted by Kodi to pass the time. Alex and Dylan also started on different tribes in this game, but were able to reconnect at the merge. Then Dylan voted Alex out.

Fear not, the story continues.

Alex and Dylan still continued to talk daily. Their conversations started to turn from text messaging, to voice calling, to video calling. At this point, there was no denying that there was feelings for each other, but Alex and Dylan knew the reality of the situation. They couldn't live further apart from each other if they tried.

However, rationalization was not needed in their situation. Alex and Dylan knew that they wanted to give each other a shot from the connection they had developed. Their connection was so strong, they decided to give each other a chance even when the world was still in lock down, and it was uncertain if they would ever be able to meet each other.

Then, the most spectacular thing occurred. Dylan was able to finally travel to the United States to visit Alex in the Winter of 2021 to 2022.

It was 17 magnificent days filled with many adventures and the foundation Alex and Dylan needed to continue their growing love for each other. Dylan was able to see Alex's life and the place she called home.

Then that summer, Alex was able to see Dylan's home after graduating from Truman State University. They were able to go on many adventures together in both America and Australia.

After 100 plus hours on video calls, in person connection, and complete adoration for each other, Alex and Dylan knew that this relationship was the one.

On August 2nd, 2022 (August 3rd for our Australian friends), Dylan asked the question that he knew would change his life forever. Dylan asked Alex to marry him, with the assistance with Alex's mom, it was the best way for a long distance proposal to occur.

Alex and Dylan are so excited to start this next chapter of their lives together and so thankful for all of the support they have received.
