Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.
It's hard to believe that two people from two different states were able to come together through something as simple as social media. I was the first to come across Olivia and I said to myself, "Wow, this girl is beautiful!" But there is no way that I'd even get a chance to talk to this seemingly amazing and mysterious girl. So, I viewed her profile, liked a few of her pictures, and then went on my way, not expecting to ever see her again. To my utter amazement, she messaged me! Later that night, after many messages back and forth, we had a 3 1/2 video chat where we left each other with a restless night of minds racing. Over the next several weeks we spent literally every single day texting and calling each other, getting to know each other and making plans to go out on a date. Finally, we arranged a day where we could go on a date and meet each other in person! I showed up to pick her up at her apartment in Tiffin, OH and once she walked outside I was so excited yet also so nervous because I really wanted her to like me. We went to dinner at Red Lobster and then went to do some bowling, which we both excel at (not really...) and thus began an ever fiery competition. Not too long after our first date, I asked Olivia to be my girlfriend, thankfully she said yes and as a result, our relationship began.
After many more dates and much more time spent with each other and each other's families, we arrived at the point where I was ready to ask Olivia to marry me. In the weeks leading up to me asking Olivia, I convinced her that we were going to DJ a fancy prom so we had to get all dressed up to go. I told her that we had to go pick up some equipment before we went to the "prom". While she was outside waiting in the car, I was inside arranging things with her parents/grandparents as well as my own parents. Since Olivia had never been taken to a prom by a proper date, I figured that creating a prom just for her and I would be extra special. Once she walked through the doors, she acted quite surprised and confused as to what was going on. I walked out to meet her in the middle of the room, got down on one knee, and proposed to her with a Ring Pop in a cardboard box, to which she quickly replied YES! The hidden meaning of the Ring Pop was talked about previously in our relationship where she had told me that even if I proposed with a Ring Pop, she would still say yes to marrying me. The second part of the proposal was that the ring was in a cardboard box, which was an inside joke between her and I during the early stages of our relationship where we joked about one of us being kidnapped by the other and getting stuffed in a big cardboard box, given the avenue in which we met. Hiding under the false bottom of the box was her real engagement ring. The ring I gave her is a completely custom ring designed by myself. I went this route because I wanted to give Olivia something that no other woman has, something completely unique, just like Olivia is to me.
