How We Met --Q&A with Alex


Q: How Did You both First Meet?
A: We met at my dads Restaurant La Viva Cantina on the Patio during a Cypress and Surround Event


Q: Did you both date right away or were you friends.
A: Actually neither.. Fosca was working in the area as a bar trainer and was interested in working with one of the restaurants that my family is partnered in but we were both in a social group so i guess we were acquaintaces.


Q: What was your first Date Like?
A I had decided to officially ask her back out to LA Viva cantina because it was neutral and we liked the environment.


Q: What happened in your first date that was interesting or unusual?
A: Well my dad was not scheduled to be in the restaurant that day and yet he was. So when I went to the restroom and got back to the table with Fosca, My dad was sitting and talking to her.


Q: What happened in the first date that was memorable?
A: lol well after my dad sat at our date table, Fosca told me she had 2 kids and that the youngest one was wanting to go to the movies. So I asked, when the movies was coming out and she replied tonight! So I said lets pick him up and go to the movies... I told her my dad was already on our date and so we might as well pick up her son! I knew that family wasn't going anywhere so we had to find out quickly if everyone was going to get along and work together.


Q: What was it we heard about a Christmas party and you parking
A: I had been invited to Fosca's house and she was throwing a XMAS Sweater party. So I didn't really know everyone there and it was a Big Group Event so I parked on the next street because I was anticipating leaving early. Funny part was that I stayed the entire party and ended up dancing with Fosca in the living room until everyone left then i helped her clean up. I left and went back to my home that night and Joke that for an XMAS Party that I was going to leave early, Now I park in that driveway and I help setup those parties lol.


Q: What do you like best about Fosca.
A: Funny Enough her Son Rodick Asked the Same and I told him that It was her intellect and Caring for others.


Q: To change Subject: Why did you both choose Balmorhea?
A: We had looked at a lot after we decided not to go away to get married. we figured it was easier for our family and friends to be a part of this if it was local. and we really liked a few local wineries, but they were booked or out of budget. so, our wedding planner found this location and hit all the check marks.


Q: What can everyone expect from a Wedding and Reception at Balmorhea?
A: It's a Beautiful property! We wanted a place close enough so friends and family could come but not have to get hotel rooms unless they were out of town and We didn't really want to put our friends or family out with using their properties or asking for help around the holidays. So we decided to pick a venue that was setup and everyone could just come enjoy the day with us as our guests..


Q: What does the wedding look like in your mind
A: Well there is a beautiful chapel there which will be decorated in fall/xmas decor. the reception hall is Huge and has 2 attached rooms with 2 bars and food buffet section so its big enough for music, dancing, sitting, eating and drinking.


Q: The property sounds big; you haven't talked about the outside areas!
A: there is multiple lakes and picture areas everywhere. the back patio is setup as cocktail area with cigar smoking lounge and outdoor fireplace. There is also an old tower bell and guest area with billiard table.!


Q: You mentioned an annual ugly sweater x-mas party. Are you both throwing that along with a Wedding this year?
A: Not this year! We joked about having both but decided we are going to throw the same party next year but this year is the wedding then x-mas.


Q: Last Question, When is the honeymoon.?
A: We are planning to go to hotel on our Wedding night then back home for the ANNUAL XMAS family Christmas. We have my Mom, Step dad Rick, Fosca's mom, both of Fosca's boys, William and Rodick with their girlfriends/friends and even my old neighbors / friends Peter & Ute, with Ms Goolsby All come by for Christmas events! After the Holiday we will go on our Honeymoon to the Bahamas for New Years!
