We are so excited for you to celebrate with us! We thought it would be fun to list some of the things that we have enjoyed doing when we have been to Martha's Vineyard so that maybe you can experience them also!

~ Stop at the "Jaws Bridge" it is famous because it was featured in the Jaws movie!(the movie was filmed on the island) In the summer, it is a right of passage to jump off of it into the Atlantic! In that same vein, the restaurant, Sharky's Cantina has some of the memorabilia to see!

~ The Edgartown Lighthouse

~ Menemsha - a small fishing village (which was also in Jaws) We love to grab a fresh lobster roll at the fish market! The sunsets there are magical - the sunset crowd gets there early! Also, while there right around the corner is the U.S. Coast Guard Station, a fun place to take a picture also.

~ Horseback riding - we have done this several times at Arrowhead Farm

~Kayaking - another fun way to see the island - lots of places to rent

~ A must do - go to South Beach(in Edgartown) on a clear night and look up at the stars! It is an amazing site - you truly feel as though you are in a planetarium!

~ Gay Head Cliffs and lighthouse in Aquinnah - a breathtaking view of the Atlantic! and another good place to see the sunset!

~ Cliche but you have to see the Gingerbread houses (a former Methodist Church campground built in the 1800's and "Flying Horses" carousel (known as the oldest operating platform carousel in America) located in Oak Bluffs

~ Grab lunch at 7a Foods and go back in time at Alley's General Store in West Tisbury

~ Visit & pet the Alpacas at Island Alpaca Company in Oaks Bluff

~ Play golf at Farm Neck Golf Club

~ Go to Chappaquiddick! (via the 2 min car ferry off of Edgartown) - if you are a history buff then you know the story of Senator Ted Kennedy and the incident in 1969 off of Dike Bridge. You can also rent beach jeeps and see Chappy!

~Go to Black Dog Restaurant in Vineyard Haven. It began on the island.

~ Go to Vineyard Vines in Edgartown - where it all began!

~ Have a glass of wine on the back patio of the Atlantic Fish House and watch the yachts come & go!

~ Visit one of the breweries on the island - Bad Martha's Brewery and Offshore Ale Co.

~ Wait in line for donuts at Back Door Donuts or for breakfast at Art Cliff Diner or watch Red Baron style planes take off while having breakfast at Right Fork Dine Out!

~ Grab a cup of coffee at Behind the Bookstore (Edgartown) and walk around town enjoying the beautiful homes with unbelievable hydrangeas and American flags flying! And of course all the fun shops!

~ See the 5 lighthouses on the island - The West Chop Lighthouse, The East Chop Lighthouse, The Gay Head Lighthouse, Edgartown Lighthouse, The Cape Poge Lighthouse.

~ There are numerous books written about the island (and some of the authors live there) so that is a fun thing to search out also. Along with some movies filmed there if that interests you. Martha's Vineyard is home to quite a few famous people but their presence is kept very discreet. Jackie Kennedy Onassis's former home (Red Gate Farm- Aquinnah) recently sold and is now owned by a Conservation Land Trust and is supposedly open to the public (Squibnocket Pond Reservation). The Kennedy family kept 95 acres and the home.
