We met on OkCupid in January 2014. Justin’s username was a Smiths song, and Alex’s was her AIM username from middle school. Justin messaged first - he said “I like your style.” Alex told him her favorite food was burgers, so he took her to a hidden gem in Ann Arbor: a bowling alley restaurant with surprisingly good food. The rest was history!

We experienced so much of college together: Michigan football games, countless theme parties, and two different dorm rooms and two crappy apartments.

We also racked up thousands of miles on Justin’s green Jeep, from long trips to northern Michigan to short drives to our favorite places, like the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn or the Meijer in Ann Arbor.

After Alex’s graduation, we moved in to our first apartment together in Ann Arbor while Justin finished college. If only we knew how lucky we had it with two bedrooms and a balcony. . . Because just one year later we made the decision to move to New York City!

We learned a lot during our two years in Brooklyn, like what it’s like to live so close to a subway station your apartment rattles when a train goes by, and where to find the best late night bacon egg and cheese sandwiches (the sketchier the bodega the better). In 2019 we added our dog Olivia to our family, and we couldn’t ask for a better pet. If you don’t follow her on Instagram you’re missing out!

The three of us moved to Hoboken in August 2020 and have been happy in our very reasonably sized apartment since. We filled it with books, antiques, baseball memorabilia (Justin), vintage clown memorabilia (Alex), and more Halloween decorations than you’d think possible (both of us). In 2024, we’ll mark 10 years together, just about a third of our lives so far.

We love our life and our family and are so happy to celebrate it with all of you!
