Our story began briefly back in 2019 at a mutual friend's wedding. We were introduced while walking back to a pizza party after the wedding reception, but after that day, life took us our separate ways.

Flash forward to 2021, and another mutual friend invited each of us to join him for a game night at his apartment (thanks Chris!). While we instantly recognized each other from the wedding, our shy personalities kept us from speaking much to each other. Thanks to Chris frequently hosting these game nights and movie nights over the next two years, we were able to develop feelings for each other over time until Alex finally worked up the nerve to ask Abbie to dinner in July of 2023. By August, we were officially dating. We both knew from our very first date that we had something special, and it didn't take long before we started to understand that old saying, "when you know, you know."

Over the following year, we drew closer together through long walks along the greenbelt, hiking across Red River Gorge, more game nights at Chris’s, trips out west and to New England, and many nights of take out from Wasabi while watching Netflix.

Alex proposed to Abbie on Sept. 15th at one of her favorite places, and of course she said yes. We are so excited to start our life together and can't wait to continue to explore the world, one trail at a time!
