John and Alex first met while they were attending University at Buffalo back in 2012, when they both joined the Quidditch club team. (He played the Keeper position, which Alex loves to joke was quite appropriate.)

They danced around each other for a while, because they kept thinking the other didn't like them back even though their friends who knew kept telling them differently, because they were hearing about it from both of them. And then one day in October 2013 they suddenly realized they both liked each other and immediately got together.

Their first date was to go see Frozen, because they're both big Disney nerds, followed by going to a miniature gaming convention their college was having, where their friends were split between grateful they'd finally managed to figure it out...or confused because they were friends with both of them but had no idea they knew each other LOL. (Nerd communities, it's always a smaller world than you think.)

Then Alex graduated, so they had to go long distance for a couple of years while John finished up at University at Buffalo and Alex went to graduate school elsewhere. Which was tough, but we got by with lots of phone dates watching Netflix shows together, and getting to see each other in the summer and on holiday breaks.

But they stuck it through and have had many adventures through the years...
