WHEN SHOULD WE ARRIVE AT THE EVENT?
Guests are encouraged to arrive at 4:00pm. Our ceremony begins at 4:30pm sharp.
Will there be transportation to the venue?
There will be transportation from the Radisson to the venue and back at the end of the night.
3:30pm transportation will arrive at the Radisson.
3:45pm transportation will leave the Radisson to head to the venue.
11:00pm transportation will leave the venue and head to the Radisson. Bus will make another trip leaving the venue around 11:30pm.
Is it okay to take pictures with your phones during the ceremony?
We ask that you kindly put your phones away and on silent and airplane mode for an unplugged ceremony. We have a professional photographer who will be taking plenty of photos of the bride and groom and the guests. We will share all the photos with you! It will look silly if you are the only one holding your phone up in the guest photos. Plus, we want to look out into the crowd and see all of your faces, not your phones. Additionally, we will try to livestream the ceremony for guests who can't make it so if you are using your phones during the ceremony, it will eat up the reception we need for the livestream.
INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?
Weather permitting, our ceremony will be held outside on the beach (so we do not recommend stilettos!). We suggest bringing a jacket in case it's a little chilly! The reception will be held indoors and in a tent adjacent to the building on the boardwalk.
Ceremony and reception location?
The ceremony and reception will be held in the same location, at the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow, Sunken Meadow State Park, Kings Park, New York 11754.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of parking. The parking lot "Sunken Meadow State Park Lot 2" is right outside of the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow.
Do I have to pay to enter Sunken Meadow State Park?
No! Tell the booth attendant you are attending the Fuchs-Duryea wedding or show them your invitation and you will not have to pay to enter the park.
Will there be welcome event or an after party?
Yes, both! See the Welcome Event and After Party pages for more info.
Dress code?
In an attempt to be helpful, I’ve included some dress codes/themes that are along the lines of what we were thinking but there are so many and we don’t know the difference! Summer/garden formal, garden/tea party attire, wine country chic, Kentucky derby chic but forget those big dumb hats, Sunday best, cocktail/semi-formal. Wear whatever you usually wear to weddings. No jeans. Is this helpful or more confusing…
Don't wear stilettos or any pointy heels, you will get sucked into the sand or break your heel in the slats between the wood on the boardwalk.
registry?
From the bottom of our hearts, we love you! Your presence is already the biggest gift we could ask for. We are excited to start our lives together, and we are so thankful for our loved ones. As we enter our marriage, we realize that we have enough belongings. And our one-bedroom apartment cannot physically fit more stuff! For family and friends that have asked, we decided to set up a few different funds that will go towards our honeymoon and our future home. If you would like to give a gift, consider heading to the Registry page for more information.
Are kids invited?
If your *invitation* does not explicitly list the name of your kiddos or say "and family" they are not invited. The RSVP link will also specify guests by name so if a name is not listed they are not invited. We would like you to have fun, parents night out!! Woo!
Can I bring a guest?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests; we can only accommodate those formally invited on your wedding invitation. Your invitation will be addressed as {Your Name} + {Guest} if a plus one has been given to you. Additionally the RSVP link will only have invited guests listed so if a name is not on that list, there is no seat reserved.
Is there a hotel room block?
Yes, there are two! Look under the Hotels page to find information about the blocks. There are blocks at the Hampton Inn and the Radisson.
*THERE WILL BE A SERVICE DOG AT THE WEDDING*
Mercy is a task trained service dog that will be attending with her handler, Shannon. Do not call for Mercy or try to feed her, it is not cute. Do not pet Mercy unless specifically given consent to do so, she is a service dog who will be working, not a pet here for funzies.
What is a service dog?
Under the ADA, a service dog is defined as a dog that has been individually task trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.
Is a service dog the same thing as a therapy dog? Or an emotional support animal?
No. Therapy/emotional support animals have not been trained to perform a specific task to help a person with a disability. They also have different access rights.
