It's October 2021, Joey is about to move into an apartment in Hoboken with his long time friend Drew and Alex is living in Hoboken with her sister Sami.

Joey sets his Bumble location to Hoboken before he moves to scope things out and stumbles on Alex. Although Joey claims that Alex wasn't interested and made him extend his Bumble like, Alex was working overnights at the time and didn't see it. But when she did she enjoyed the easy conversation and agreed to a date with Joey.

On his first night in Hoboken, Joey and Alex had their first date at the Ainsworth and then walked to the water front. It was the best first date Alex ever had and the rest is history.
