Our Story

When people ask us ‘Why are you getting married in Spain?’, we state the obvious reasons; sun, sea, sand and sangria. But, for us, the Spanish way of life, particularly in the South, is relaxed and calm, the people are friendly and gregarious, and the culture is rich and diverse, and having lived in and travelled around Spain, we truly feel at home here, and it is safe to say that we have fallen in love with it over the years. So, when it came to choosing a meaningful place for us to tie the knot in, it truly was a no brainer. We cannot wait to share our love for this wonderful country with you on our special day. The Venue

We're pleased to announce that there will be a coach available on the day of the wedding to take guests to and from the venue. The coach company is Valleniza and there will be a notice in the window to indicate it's our wedding day coach service. The 'Portonem' or post-wedding celebration

In Goan culture, it is traditional to have a celebration the day after the wedding. This is called the 'Portonem' (pronounced Pot-oh-nay). It's a great way to catch-up with people and relive the fun of the day before! It is very casual, so please wear whatever you like - we want you to be comfy and relaxed! It will be held at the same venue as the wedding, and food and drink will be provided for all guests. We would love it if you could join us!

Wedding Party

Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is the nearest airport to the venue, and you can fly there direct from most major U.K airports. It is approximately a 40-45 minute drive (38 miles or 62km) from Málaga Airport to the venue. As there is no public transport that goes in the direction of the venue, it is recommended that you either hire a car or get a taxi if you are staying on site or in one of the towns nearby. You can also stay in Málaga City (information on how to get there from the airport outlined below), and we will be offering a free coach service from Málaga City to the venue and back on the day of the wedding for our guests staying in the city. Nearest Airport

It is quick and easy to rent a car from Málaga Airport as there are several rental car companies to choose from. We’d recommend booking your car in advance to avoid disappointment. Please see the link to a rental car comparison website below.

Car Rental

If you are planning on staying in Málaga City, there is plenty of public transport that can get you there directly from the airport. Train: You can take the C1 train to either Málaga-Centro Alameda or Málaga María Zambrano (depending on where you are staying), that takes around 15-20 minutes. Bus: You can also take the “A” Express Bus. There are buses approximately every 25-45 minutes that take around 25-30 minutes. Public Transport

There are also plenty of taxis at Málaga Airport which can take you to the venue, to Torre del Mar, to Vélez-Málaga or to Málaga City. The price of a taxi will depend on how many people are travelling and the amount of luggage, if applicable. From the airport to a town close near the venue, a taxi could range from anywhere between €60 to €120, while a taxi from the airport to Málaga City could range from €25 to €50.

Near the venue

There are a number of small villages in the surrounding area where you can find a hotel, lodge or villa. Our venue also has a sister venue called Hotel Cortijo Bravo which is about 15 minutes away by car. The nearest town to the venue is Vélez-Málaga which has hotels to stay at, or Airbnbs and villas to book. Vélez-Málaga is about 20 minutes from the venue by car. Public transport isn't very good here, so we wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have rented a car or are happy to get a taxi.

On the beach

The closest town to the venue which is on the beach is called Torre del Mar. It's about 20-25 minutes by car and has a lovely, long beach. Slightly further down the coast, you'll find Caleta de Velez (25-30 minutes to the venue) and Algarrobo-Costa (25-30 minutes to the venue).

Málaga City

If you are planning on staying in the main city, there are plenty of places to choose from. It's not the biggest city, so wherever you stay, you'll be near the main sights. The Centro Histórico (Historical Centre) is our favourite part of the city; it's easy to get to from the airport, near to the train station and surrounded by places to eat and drink. If you're looking to be near the beach, we would recommend the Playa de la Malagueta as it's still within walking distance of the city (around a 15 minute walk).

Please note that the venue has a limited number of rooms and as such, only a small number of close family members and friends are able to stay - we thank you in advance for your understanding.

We are so grateful to you for travelling abroad for our special day! To show our gratitude, we thought we'd suggest a few places that you might want to visit before or after the wedding.

In Spain

Málaga is in the region of Andalusia, and in this region, there are a number of exciting cities that you can visit. CórdobaCórdoba is a small city tucked away to the north of Málaga. The city has influences from multiple cultures so naturally, you'll want to see the Roman Bridge, the Great Mosque and the Jewish Quarter. The train between Córdoba and Málaga is around 1 hour, whilst the drive is closer to 2 hours. GranadaGranada is a city where Roman, Muslim and Catholic cultures all come together. It has a particularly unique vibe compared to the rest of Spain, and if you go out for a drink, it's traditional for a free plate of food to be served with your drink! The main landmark in the city is the Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By car, Granada is about 1.5-2 hours from Málaga. You can also take the train which is a 1.5 hour journey. SevilleSeville is the capital of the region, and is famous for its Cathedral, Alcázar, as well as its oranges! It's about 2-2.5 hours drive, or you can get a direct train to/from Málaga. You can also fly to the following places from Málaga airport:- Barcelona- Bilbao- Gran Canaria- Lanzarote- Madrid- San Sebastián- Tenerife- Valencia

Outside of Spain

There are flights to and from Málaga airport to almost every European country. Below is a selection of other places you might want to visit before or after the wedding, which you can get to directly from Málaga airport. - France: Lyon, Marseilles, Paris, Toulouse- Italy: Milan, Naples, Rome, Turin- Morocco: Casablanca and Marrakesh- Portugal: Lisbon and Porto- Turkey: Istanbul

If you're staying in Málaga, or visiting the city, you must take a walk around the old town, the roman amphitheatre, the cathedral, to name but a few points of interest - the port and the beach is also worth a visit! You can find a few restaurant, café and bar recommendations below kindly given to us by our celebrant, Antonio! Restaurants: 1. El Pimpi. The food is mainly ‘pescaito frito’ (fried fish). They have an outside terrace, situated in front of the Roman theatre and inside is the bodega (wine cellar) with the wine barrels. 2. Restaurant El Trillo. Traditional food from Málaga, Calle Don Juan Diaz. 3. Restaurant Lo Güeno. Traditional food from Málaga Calle Marín García, 9 4.- Bar Málaga. Calle Santa María. 4. Near Plaza de la Constitución. One of the oldest bars in Málaga. If you don't have much time, it's good for a beer. 5. Bar Las Merchanas. It is also an old bar. The decoration is to do with Easter. 6. You have to go for a glass of wine at: La Taberna de la Antigua Casa de Guardia, in the Alameda Principal. 7. Restaurant La Pérgola del Mediterráneo. Paseo de la Farola, 18 It is in La Malagueta, very close to the centre. It has a very nice terrace, facing the sea. It is very good for lunch. This restaurant also belongs to Antonio Banderas! 8. Uvedoble Taberna. A more modern restaurant that does both tapas and larger plates. Right next to the Roman Theatre. 9. Budare. A recommendation that isn't Spanish food. It's a Venezuelan restaurant. It's quite small but the food is great! 10. Casa Lola. A great tapas restaurant in the heart of the city. Slightly less authentic but the food is good and service is quick. 10. Cafés/bars: &nbsp;1.- Hotel Alcazaba Premium, in C/ Alcazabilla, lovely rooftop bar with views over Málaga. 2.- Terrace of the Hotel Málaga Palacio, in C/ Molina Lario. If they don't let you go up, say you want to look round to get married, for example) and come to see the place! 3.- Hotel Málaga Premium: Terrace of San Juan, in C/ San Juan, 11 4.- Terrace of the Hotel Only You, in Alameda Principal, just in front of Calle Larios. 5.- The terrace of the hotel Room Mate Valeria.
