January, 2023. They met at church on the worship team. He was taller than her. He asked her out. She agreed, and the first date went well. However, with an upcoming international move hanging over her thoughts, she politely declined a second date...

March, 2023. They continued serving in worship, and she saw his character (and his guitar skills) shining through. Worried she might have missed her chance, she proposed a guitar lesson in the park. It was favorably received. Thus, the second of countless more dates ensued.

June, 2023. Then came the move. Misahualli, Ecuador, 2,700 miles from Charlottesville. Thus ensued the virtual dates! Two technology-averse people learned the true value of video calls.

November, 2023. He visited her in the jungle for two weeks that fall, and held her hand while she planned English lessons and navigated the stress of first year teaching. A walk down to the river produced a proposal that, while highly unanticipated by both parties, was also found to be highly agreeable. Thus they were engaged.

April, 2024. A ring was procured and properly placed.

July, 2024. 5 weeks of summer in the same hemisphere, continent, country, state, county, city. Could there be anything better?

December, 2024. 2 weeks together. All the holiday hoopla. Mistletoe was found and properly enjoyed :)

March, 2025. After discernment and prayer, she will be returning to her beloved a few months earlier than originally planned. This will allow them to continue pouring into the foundation of a marriage they are beyond excited to begin.
